Nice car, 1966 Fairlane GT (1967 ever so slightly less) has been my favorite car my entire life. I've always been a Ford and MoPar guy. I've owned many of them. I had an opportunity to buy a really nice and original '66 Fairlane GT from my best friend back in 1985, and I'd still have it today if medical bills hadn't got in the way. Black w/ black interior and white rocker panel "GT" stripes.

From 77-81' the 80 had the most horsepower at 190net.

I've had mine since order new, March of 1973. 401, 4- speed with cowl induction, Cordoba Brown, gold fade to black T stripe, black vinyl interior. Dealer install 3.73 rear gears and 1970 Rebel Machine cast iron intake. No, it won't beat todays new Mustang or Comaro's, but they will give the AMX a second and third look.

Believe it or not, I'm still the original owner of a 1973 Javelin AMX. Ordered it new, March of 1973, took 7 weeks to build and ship to the dealer in Michigan. 401 with go pac, 4-speed, Cordoba Brown with gold metal flake, gold fade to black T stripe, black vinyl interior. Options that I ordered on it are, Go Pac that has the functional cowl induction that is claimed to add another 7% horsepower, cowl induction was not an option on the 74 AMX. The cowl induction and the Go Pac option had a $476.25 price tag added to the sticker price, only 1027 AMX's in 73 were ordered with it. Under front bumper spoiler, power steering, all tint windows, floor console for 4-speed, inside hood release, light group, am/fm Motorola stereo radio, body side scuff molding, dealer install 3.73 rear gears. Only changes to the AMX are, addition of 1970 AMC Rebel Machine cast iron intake, a larger 1 in. front sway bar with the addition of a 1/2 in. rear sway bar. The AMX stickered at $4,471.90, it has never been on a 1/4 mile drag strip, but was raced for a few years on a Gymkhana course and took one first place finish. The AMX has never been outside in the winter, always stored inside on jack stands to keep from spring sag. The 401 now has 92,000 miles on it and still uses no oil between the 2,000 mile oil changes. I burn 90 octane non ethanol gas with the addition of, 10 ounces of Lucas upper cylinder lubricant for the valve seats. Only weak spot on the 401 is the oil system, oil pump has been replaced twice, the timing chain has been replaced two times as well. The AMX was and still is a great performing car, the handling is still top notch for a 51 year old car. It is not for sale but will stay with the family, such a shame that so few Javelin AMX's are left today in original condition.
