Very nice
Another nice 1 george
i think low mid high and uk40 is more than adequate.
seems so basic, but so helpful to lots of people
Been looking for a replacement switch ( contact reeds) for a Turner +2. I've scoured the planet and they must not exist. Is there a way to make a keying circuit out of a push button mic that could be fabricated to work with the push bar on the Turner?
Liewe donner, ons praat en praat maar ons sê eintlik maar net mooi fokol.
you are most welcome to make your own videos pal.
Were or are they good receivers?
nice one.
Looks great George excellent work
I already imagined that the Yaesu engineers were stupid!
Another grand job there mate, she is looking good, nearly as good as mine 😮
Good to see you back George.Hope all is well
What paddle key is that? I have one but don't know it's origin...
Not all heros wear capes
I wear me underpants on the inside too!
Thank you so much this was very helpful.
You are so welcome!
Great job... mine annoys the hell out of me, too Thanks
At first I thought its gonna be a bed frame for Al Bundy's mother in law - extra sturdy... LOL 😂 Or, a large flower box to make the wife happy... Sorry, but couldn't resist... we have to laugh sometimes in this cracy world... It can serv multiple purposes dought.. and thats nice - good work ! 🥰👍👍👍
Makes it all the easier to live in doesn't it?
I have got an AR7 from a garage sale a short ago. It worked quite well and it was very precise in frequency, but it needed a good cleaning and an electrolytics recap. After recapping I did the cleaning of the solderings side with alcohol and toothbrush, and after that an audio issue arose: the audio came and went away simply touching some components in the circuit, including touching the trimmer pots. At last, I redid the solderings around TR15 (D471) that feeds the channel display and all was fixed. That transistor becomes very warm and perhaps the repeated temperature variations in time had damaged some solderings. Very nice little rig, unfortunately not legal for use in Italy.
Looking good there mate, I must admit I do miss the in-depth videos you used to do but totally understand that time is a factor and that this isn’t your main job…just thought I would let you know that they are appreciated and that I look forward to seeing these vids
Cheers Bill. I'm sorry mate, I just don't have time for that at the moment. One shot deal unedited and upload straight from the phone for now I'm afraid.
@@GeorgeEI7KO totally understand mate
Lovely looking radios George
Nice rig George …got a nice home for it here lol ❤
What's that motor boat sound coming from the radio? A switch mode power supply?
PLC noise. I get it all the time here. The downside of an Urban QTH
Looking grand there fella… another cracking job done.
Cheers Bill. Hope you are well fella.
have a good weekend m8
Hi Mike. Hope you are in good fettle. I will WhatsApp you.

Thanks man.
Thank you so much
Good luck!
Would have appreciated a with antenna/without antenna comparison at three or four places on the dial. As it is, we can't tell if there was any improvement.
Take my word for it, massive improvement. Didn't think of doing that at the time of the video. Sorry.
I keep referring to this video because my father keeps messing with my settings!!! Thank you!!
Happy to help!
Ive got couple off this set they are nice looking works well i don't like the inside. It just sitting on the shelf for 3 years now i definitely won't recommend it to anyone .
If you ever want to part with one let me know.
Will do
I don't work on radios now that I'm retired but in the past when I've had a problem like that I build a new circuit board back to a usable connection.
George.... Are you in the states?
No I'm in ireland.
@@GeorgeEI7KO crap
@@stevej8141 I don't follow?
@@GeorgeEI7KO I was hoping you was in the states that way I could send you my cobra 200.
utter crap and we all know it..
The first and second iterations of the are total garbage. The v3 of them are OK. If you have the test equipment and spend the time setting them up, they're not too bad. Channel selectors are very delicate in them though. The selector or a cpu fault are normally what writes them off.
A beautiful radio there mate, mine is still bang on and working well.
Glad to hear it bill.
They don’t make them cobra radios 🐍like they used to what a great piece of history.
I had one of me own here last year. The nightwatch even worked on it!
I'd love to own that radio
You and many others I would expect mate!
theres a one on fb marketplace but its deer
@@ghanditw I never seen a cheap one yet Mike. I got good money for mine as the nightwatch still worked. Hope you are well buddy
@@GeorgeEI7KO yes m8 im good
How do you power yours? Ive got an active di box and said it powers via 12v dc or 9v battery....... Only every time I power it via 12v i get noise but powered by 9v it works fine
Ive a modified CB supply that outputs 9v at 5A capacity
Nice bike, new to your channel, I am from the States in the Green Mountains VT, had a friend from Nottingham UK tell me about your channel, cant wait to hear that bad boy running, what are you running for a header/pipe/ can?
Hi and welcome along. The headers and link pipe are cobra SR1. Just a carbon fibre race can as I didn't want to cut down the original cobra can. I can't wait to hear it run myself. Bit bogged down with radio work at the moment. But we will be back at it soon enough.
One of my all time favourites. Had one with the battery back up years ago
Great job thanks George
Very welcome
Good to see it turned out well ! 73
Looking good there mate, good job 😊
Thanks 👍
very nice, cant make my mind up over the blue.
Fair enough! I like the blue on a custom rig!!
Lovely restoration George well done looks class any midland 7899 available
Hi Peter. Cheers man. They are not a radio I'd have much time for now to be honest. Its a total nightmare keeping one of those running. The double sided PCB makes them a right pig to work on as well.
I have a mint boxed Madison under the spare bed somewhere, haven't seen it in years.. Must dig it out.. PS.. I thought the last of the Madisons had an LED clock!
The led clock was the uniden madison.
@@GeorgeEI7KO gotcha...
How much you want for it
It's not for sale.
Superb job mate very nicely done. Its a treat to see the video of the finished radio. Well done George.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you are doing well mate.
That is an incredible radio, such a collector with hi/low and fm. no way on god's green earth would i see one in the states. I envy the owner of this beautiful piece of history. 73's
A rare bird for sure.
