For what its worth have you found a better tool yet than this?

This will come in handy if I accidentally lock myself inside my house.

I tried this and it did not work for me. However i used to have a 5 digit code, does that make a difference?

Upside down locks can be a pain, because it's easy to over set. Obviously you gravity working against you, pushing the key pins past the cylinder. The "key" is a lot of tension and a lot of patience. It'll go eventually. Bitch picking works best (random single pin picking) If you don't have enough tension, the key pins will fall past the cylinder

If you don't have an airbag for the car door, a blood pressure cuff works too

It was a good book for its time. Sadly, much of his advice is out-of-date. So much for your license plates coming back to a truly private Wyoming LLC entity with a corporate name that sounds like a first and last name.

But in the video you do not need to jigger the door open - just open it: you are not locked in. So what's the point?

Do deadbolts pick in 1 direction only? Wouldn't you tension/turn away from the latch locked position?

I think I first heard about these generic “most keyways” (which probably means anything except crazy-paracentric :) disablers when Covert Instruments came out with their “lock harpoon” several months back. Very happy to see these available as a stand-alone easily-carried tool separate from their Covert Companion Mega Tool 😊

Keep those in my wallet. Such a small tool, is great for denial, harassment, etc..

Yeah Boris! Motel Keys by Sparrows are geared to 4 keyways: Schlage, Weiser, Kwickset, Yale. I like the idea of Lock Blocker as you get 4 that are not keyway specific so if you need to leave one behind you still have 3 more to use. You also get to use it on padlocks. In my fantasy, it can be used for escape from baddies to secure the door behind you as you go. It is not a lock pick, so will be legal even in places where lock picks are not. The best reason to have one on you...to counter other people using a Lock Blocker on you!

A few years too late to this, but this is a great video. Just got the Sparrows American Bypass driver and ran into the same issue. I also can't get the one for my covert companion from Covert Instruments to work either. I think they are too thick. I got them working but I had to use my Dremel to reduce the thickness, I did a beveled edge at the top, and I reduced the width of the head as well and now it works like a charm!

Love the case, replaced the tools with a sparrows night crawler. Seemed they were just slightly too thick.

Get a mini/small ratchet set from any dollar store etc. then unscrew the part that holds the chain to the doors frame.

no offense but this was slow af. i was able to crack this exact lock within a couple mins much faster when I was 9 rather than moving one number along and pulling each time, start at 000 and put aome slight pressure on the lock (pull slightly) then just roll the bottom number all the way back to 0 really fast, move the middle number to 1, and repeat on bottom the moment the code is correct the lock slams open as your already pulling it, meaning 2 mins is the absolute maximum time cracking this code should take
