    I have two C2’s one without a red dot and one with a red dot with the additional grip service. I determined I’m not a fan of the Staccato brand. I can shoot the C2 faster than a striker fire, but I’m consistently more accurate with a M&P (both 2.0 and Performance Center Carry Comp) or Walther PPQ Match 5. I always EDC them all. Yeah I get it, the CS is for concealed EDC, but I EDC up to full size OWB with an appropriate concealment shirt or jacket year-round (even when living in the southern) U.S. I would suggest for anyone to try a M&P Carry Comp sub-compact or new S&W Bodyguard 2 instead of a CS. You’ll save thousands $$$ and not experience the PITA of disassembling and assembling a 1911/2011 style pistol for cleaning to avoid feeding and extraction issues (which the YT content makers fail to expose), which the CS will more frequently be needing over any striker fire or polymer pistol. Staccato CS is well known for being far too snappy, which greatly slows follow-up shots.

    • @marcusjohnson5839
      @marcusjohnson5839 Před 3 dny

      Congrats you ended up trying different pistol platforms and decided what works best for you. Now instead of trying to use your personal experience to say others won’t enjoy the product and stir them to your personal preferences, maybe give a fair and balanced assessment. YT content creators as you brought up, if you want I can post a link or a few of some running a CS just fine. If you are concerned about reliability again there’s evidence of some that have been ran hard. S&W carry comp, one it’s not an actual comp it’s ported. Two most YT content creators are saying it’s great while one in particular has listed a few negatives, maybe was just his sample size though. If you want to carry full size stuff then should have skipped the C2 all together and went with a P.

    • @rays9033
      @rays9033 Před 3 dny

      @@marcusjohnson5839 wrong on many levels, I suggested not buying the CS, I did not tell anyone they would not like it. And I did not claim the NEWLY released Carry Comp is a pistol with a compensator, you have no idea what you are taking about, S&W gave it that name, look it up. I now have three M&P’s, but plan to trade-in the two older 2.0’s to my local store for a Carry Comp polymer Compact. The Staccato P you mentioned is heavier and slightly larger than the M&P metal Carry Comp, which is the max weight and size I prefer to EDC carry. The metal Carry Comp only has a 4.2” barrel, so it’s basically a M&P 2.0 Compact with a 2-round longer grip and a very slightly longer barrel, not 5”. It’s also nearly a third the price of a C2 or a CS, which is easier to accept if you decide it’s not good for you and then resale it at a big $ loss. I would rather carry a more reliable striker-fire than a tightly machined 1911/2011 any day. The Staccato’s need much more frequent cleaning lubing (Staccato Service said run’m wet). I’m not making an untested claim, I’ve carried M&P 2.0’s for four years and the C2’s (one with iron sights, one with Red Dot) for three years since they were first released and participated in a number of NRA training and competition events, which the M&P’s never experienced a FTF or FTE issue. I used both in the same number of events, twice the C2’s experienced double feeds and FTE issues that resulted in being sent back to Staccato. I’ve never had a firing or ejection issue with a M&P, yeah they are loose, they rattle and clunk, but they typically will not bind as a machined pistol (Staccato). I only ran Federal Syntech in all my pistols, which Staccato told me would work fine. I WOULD recommend folks to buy a Staccato for a fun gun for the range or competition if you can afford it, but not for EDC. I did feel much safer carrying the Staccato since it had a fantastic safety and needed it since my trigger pulls were less than 4-pounds with a very short take-up. The Carry Comp pull is 4.5 pounds with a long take-up. You can be butt-hurt I do not recommend the CS, but I just gave my opinion, people should buy what they want, that’s what our freedom gives us.

      @@marcusjohnson5839, thanks for your valuable input, and I would like your opinion on your Staccato's versus a newer version striker-fire for EDC. I think you misstated my comment(s), I did not say " others won’t enjoy the product", and as far as you mentioned "maybe give a fair and balanced assessment", I did so. I was trying to be brief to give the readers a break, so I'll go a bit more in depth on my Staccato findings since you had an issue with it. I also think you glossed-over the pain and frequent need of cleaning a 1911/2011 as compared to a striker-fire. I currently have three M&P 2.0's. One iron sights 4" Compact purchased nearly 4-years ago (when 2.0 first released), purchased one 4" Compact optics-ready 2.0 and added a Holosun red dot. Then a few weeks ago purchased as S&W calls it "Performance Center M&P9 M2.0 METAL Carry Comp pistol", which I never claimed it had a compensator on it, I earlier stated the name S&W gave it. The trigger on this one is far better than any M&P trigger I've seen (a lot of take-up, great for Carry, but a crisp wall). I own two C2's. I purchased my first iron sights (non-optic ready) when it first released around 3-years ago. Then purchased the second C2 a year later with optics cut, which Staccato mounted a Holosun red dot. I EDC'ed all of these and used them all (except the newest M&P) in NRA training and competition classes. The M&P's never had an issue, not one. The C2's had multiple stovepipes, FTF, FTE issues. Once it would not fire which the NRA instructor could not solve (my guess was the grip safety was somehow jammed, since the trigger could not be pulled) until after several minutes of mag changes and racking to ensure it returned to battery, it started to again fire. Staccato support suggested running at least 1,000-rounds through the pistol to break-it-in. At that time period during COVID, 9mm was very expensive and the lengthy seemed crazy to me, I believe I was paying $1.25 a round for Federal Syntech which is what I only run. I've sent back the C2's 3-times for service. The first time they claim no issue was found, but they may have replaced some internal parts. The second time I sent a C2 back for service, they lost the pistol for 2-months and supposedly found it on a shipping department shelf. The third time returned for service they charged me for a service I requested, but clearly did not do it; they did comp me $50 for the error and removed the charge. Staccato Support recommended frequent cleaning and always run the pistol "wet" with lube. So I stand by my earlier comments, I would not recommend Staccato for EDC, but for a fun range pistol or competition (if you have a backup) do buy one if you have the wallet and do not mind reselling it for a sizable loss. The Staccato trigger and safety are incredible, no M&P will come close. My Walther Match and PDP Pro triggers (have shorter take-up than M&P) are not quite as good as Staccato. Staccato's are machined with such tight tolerances, they are difficult to assemble and can fail due to normal debris. I wish Staccato would sell a true Carry version with less-tight tolerances to increase EDC reliability. Some of the new factory striker-fire triggers are much, much better than their gritty high-pull weight triggers. Striker-fire is also three to eight times less expensive and many times easier to clean than Staccato's. After reviewing all the plus and minus issues between striker-fire and 1911/2011, I still believe the (new) striker-fire are still a better choice for EDC. Having a pistol fire during a life-or-death situation is top priority. @marcusjohnson5839 , thanks for the valuable input, and I would like your opinion on your Staccato's versus a newer version striker-fire for EDC. Pretty sure that was safety off with the XC and even the nighthawk iirc, when he dropped it with the safety engaged it didn’t fire (I think lol) definitely not defending it, I was sort of bummed when I saw it too, but i carry the CS everyday and I don’t worry about it at all really. I also don’t think it’s snappy at all which is what i read before buying it.

    I got my P first and the first thing I noticed when I got my C2 is the safety feel was not nearly as crisp. When it arrived, I had a lot of what appeared to be machining debris on and around the safety. It also left a drag mark under the right side safety. I sent it back to staccato and they took care of it. I spoke to the gunsmith and he said he would take it apart and ensure no debris was inside. He explained that the anodizing on the aluminum frame wasn’t quite as durable and would show marks, and I can confirm it is not near as durable as a weapon lights marks the frame on my C2 and doesn’t on my P. He also explained the difference in feel on the C2 vs the P is related to aluminum frame on the C2

On my ambi safety guns I have disengaged the safety just by walking by furniture in my house and it brushing up against it. I’m not a fan of my SAO pistols safety disengaging while I’m carrying it.
