Great reminder for me. I love Ephesians 6:12, because sometimes in our speech (i know i do this) we say "they dont want us to...." whenever i feel like i am putting other people into that "they" part, i think of Ephesians 6:12. Because the enemy wants us to think of other people as the enemy, but, that is just throwing us off track. The real enemy is Satan. Good stuff thank you for this.

Well, it can be used that way I am sure, but as another commenter pointed out, it is used about suicide prevention/ people who have gone through that stuff as well. I am not saying that you should not talk about that tatoo in that way(especially arround children it might be prudent to do so) but it looks like you have been through a lot of hurt(emotionally). I would say that we dont have to cover these things up necisarily, but what we, of course, need to do is bring them to God first, who heals us and brings us peace so that we are able to bring that to those who need it through our interactions. The inner thoughts may not be directly shown, oftentimes, but the meditation of the heart shines through in all of the things we do. Take some time if you feel stressed out or if you feel like you need to force yourself to be a certain way. God wants your authentic love of him, and he wants you to be able to express it in a genuine and unburdened and relaxed way. May your mind and heart be constantly renewed by the word of God, may your faith be constantly renewed in strength and joy by the hearing of the word, and may you bring him your problems early and often so you recieve an abundance of peace beyond all understanding. God bless you, and may he provide for you his shalom(peace and wholeness) all of your days and nights.

As a Christian we should live Christ-like and in preparation for heaven. This just my opinion, but I dont think Christ would get a tattoo, and he is our perfect example. Lots of people like to change the Word of God but it does tell is not to pierce or mark our bodies. That is what the heathen and pagan do usually before sacrificing innocent children(sometimes their own!) to the pagan gods. No thank you to any tattoos for any reason. Our bodies are the temple of God and whoever defiles the temple, He will destroy. I don't think every person that has a tattoo is lost bc God knows the heart and only He is the judge. But from what I read in the Bible tattoos do not honor or glorify God in any way. God loves us all just the way he created us, without tattoos. Jesus is coming soon..,oh happy day!

It's great that you can use your tattoo for something good now, but I definitely wouldn't encourage believers to get tattoos knowinly. The Torah says not to get tattoos and Jesus didn't abolish the Law. The scripture you're quoting is the basis for the tefillin and the mezuzah, as the Jews have taken those commandments literally. To put God's Law on our hands and foreheads is meant to coorelate to actions and thoughts, respectively. He should be central to everything we do. The tefillin is a predecessor for the MotB. One big problem with tattoos is that it's a form of blood sacrifice and of establishing a blood covenant. Our covanent is established in Jesus' shed blood. Our blood is tainted by sin. Isaiah 53, he was pierced for our transgressions. Where was he pierced? In the wrists and the forehead by the thorns. The Mark will be in open mockery to the thing Jesus did to save us.
