The Media Leader Summit 2024 - Highlights
Where the most influential minds in media gather to inspire change
On 26 June, The Media Leader assembled the leading figureheads in UK media for an insightful and impactful afternoon of debate and discussion, as we continue our rich legacy as the home for industry leaders.
Inspired by The Media Leaders Debate sessions we have hosted at our Future of Media conference for the past two years, and strategically positioned the week after the world's global advertising community have come together at Cannes Lions, we will take stock of the key talking points and issues that have been discussed, and give the platform to the most influential voices in the UK to have their say in a Chatham House Rules setting.
There was also be a celebration of leadership as we announced the winners of The Media Leaders Awards and ask those leaders to join us on stage for a closing panel to shine a spotlight on what great leadership looks like, plus we will hear from future leaders as members of The Future 100 Club deliver their manifestos on how the industry can change for the better.
What does modern media leadership look like - who’s doing it best?
The Media Leader has always been the home for industry leaders
For nearly twenty years, The Year Ahead has been a key event on the calendars of industry leaders, bringing them together each January to kick off the year. The Media Leader Summit serves as a valuable opportunity for this leadership community to reconnect, assess the current state of the market, and explore how The Media Leader can drive meaningful conversations.
As the industry continues to evolve, so do we. With each passing year, our audience evolves and becomes more diverse, offering a range of perspectives that lead to innovative solutions for the daily challenges faced by leaders.
The Media Leader has continuously embraced its role as the hub for industry trailblazers. Our unwavering dedication to media has been consistently reinforced by the success of The Year Ahead, and the launch of this new leadership conference promises a future of even greater strength and passion.
The Media Leader Summit is an exclusive event designed for industry leaders and key decision-makers in the media sector.
Featuring a similar audience as our highly successful The Year Ahead event, attendees can expect to mingle with agency CEOs, top media owners' sales executives, leading marketers from renowned brands, and innovative tech pioneers.
While the primary focus is on directors and c-suite executives, we also extend a warm welcome to members of our Future 100 Club, who represent the future of the industry. Their valuable insights will contribute to a more diverse and inclusive dialogue shaping the future of media.

Hollyoaks Doest air on ITV IT AIRS ON CHANNEL 4 OR. E4
Great presentation Ian. Where can i get the powerpoint?
C4 and ITV are UKIB Members
Hello Friend, I just visited your channel where you are constantly posting videos and found that your channel is not properly SEO. That's why the SEO score is showing very low. Video tags and descriptions are not SEO-friendly. Your channel should be properly SEO-friendly. Then your channel will reach the targeted audience. As a result views, likes and subscribers will increase. Are you interested in CZcams video SEO services? As a result, you can reach your videos organically to the targeted audience, thereby increasing views and subscribers. I am waiting for your reply. Thanks
"if it has a question in the title, the answer is probably no"
ITV channels don't have Hollyoaks, but it is in Channel 4 and E4 only.
Yes that was the point of the mix up
How refreshing to hear ITV talking about full funnel
Interesting however not possible to have a look on slides
decided not to get an audio mix done.....interesting decision.
Kate is simply the best!!! What her team is doing is so meaningful !
How interesting.
Help like done now?
8:58 because parenting is about lying to your kids 😉
that was good
16 views as of 29 November!! Where is the reach Spencer?! How did you get the job you have? Who are you related to?
When is he ever going to stop the constant decline in S4 share price? He keeps talking about Meta, Google etc. We are not interested! S4 Martin, get it sorted!
"Spencer Charters" is an anagram for "Prancer's Retches".
Great discussion. Sonia did a great job moderating, and Alastair Taylor was spot on here. I’m glad he was on the panel. What a mess this Bill C-18 is. I’m still mystified why the LPC insisted on torpedoing this through parliament without thinking of the consequences. Meta said from day 1 that they would simply drop news. Why didn’t parliament listen? And what was St-Onge thinking with that initial draft of regulations? Google has all the leverage now-if a deal can be worked out through the regulations, it is going to be something that is good for Google. Not Canadian publishers. That, or Google simply stops indexing and including links to news. A real “lose lose” for Canadians and Canadian news publishers in either case.
The British has. Ecumenical and embarrassment, they are hateful, spew lies and never investigate any of the stories they get but rely on social media and other gossip columns. They have lost the plot. Right now the only news and story they have every hour and every minute and second they Harry and Meghan and they spew hateful comments that border on racism, are picked up by the Right wing extremists. One just has to go through the comments made by the Sun, Daily Mail, Daily Express, the Mirror, ITV News, Sky news. Their audience spews vitreous hateful and racist comments and as a black woman it spears right into your heart. The racists literally gobble up such news and use it to their advantage. The British media has lost its top role in the global media platforms. This garbage that actual promote racism to a new level needs to stop.
It’s the Sussex’s mouthpiece.
How can I get PDF of this presentation ?
Can a news media, Whose chosen demographic represents less than 10% of the country, really afford to highlight issues and guests that denigrate and insult the other 90% of the country? Especially now, that the so-called "bigots" are tired of being insulted for their opinions and the tide of public opinion is doing a tsunamic U-turn on the LGBTQ+ zealots. Good luck on that. RIP Pink news. 😏
A very timely and important topic - and "Joy for All" is a fantastic message for today's society. Plus, Kendra Rogers is a brilliant moderator and content expert in the field of strategic marketing - Love her work !! 👍👏
She is the devil in disguise, GFYS!!
CAROLYN McCALL SHALL BE FIRED - AND WE WILL MAKE SURE - EVERYONE IN THE PUBLIC - WRITE YOUR CONDEMNATION LETTERS TO ITV AND THE OMBUDSMEN AND ANY POLITICIAN WHO CAN ENSURE SHE GOES. THREATEN TO STOP WATCHING UNTIL SHE IS SACKED #publicagainstcarolynmccall #publicvoteagainstcarolynmccall - SHE SHOULD BE STRIPPED OF HER DAME HOOD- ANDSUFFER AS MUCH AS SHE MADE OTHERS SUFFER - THERE ARE FAR MORE BETTER WOMEN THAN HER. SHE IS GOING TO BE FIRED - AND WE WILL MAKE SURE!
Why do we want the media to have an opinion? I don’t want the media to have an opinion. I want the media to report objective facts.
Great to hear other businesses is changing their names!
3 years later still no monetisation for the curators, we're all just building up their platform. 😂
As a man living in a house with 3 women I can confirm that this is a LIE 😄

It's called boycotting of conservative media
Thank you for this expo! 👏👏 Indeed, collaboration with stakeholders all aiming to a more sustanable approach is what will drive real change in the whole ecosystem.
I fisted him once but he was fairly cute back then. His face looks so old/weird now, such a waste
No scobbie the press are not trying to hurt u from being a royal correspondence. Everyone of the royals refuse to be any where near you. The royal family will never have u near them again. Not because of the press but because of your mouth and now NO ONE in the palace can TRUST you any more. You still say that Meghan and Harry are calling the royal family racists BUT Harry has come out in one of his American interviews says MEGHAN and I have NEVER call the royal family RASIST so scobbie is a complete lyer. What boss would trust u with their emails after u snooped into all their email and print them out. Who on earth could trust u
Scobbie has been caught in so many lies how can anyone believe anything else that comes out of his mouth. Scobbie blocks everyone on social media that don’t agree with what he says. So scobbie controls what’s said on his social media. Now it’s been proven that Harry and Meghan DID help scobbie write the book. So once again another lie just like Harry and meghan Scobbie is 💯 percent Meghan’s mouth piece. Just listen to him talk all about Meghan. Like there wasn’t anyone else Miss used in the press but scobbie has Never come out about them.
Omid is so kind and elegant. I hope that Camilla gets exposed and people see that her plan was to be liked and therefore she needed to put someone down.
I hope Omid gets exposed for the two bit tawdry non royal reporter he is. He was never on the royal Rota.
This is funnier czcams.com/video/UQwTp3aJpnM/video.html
Wonderfull, Omid. U Are So ellegant, decent, thank u for standing for M And H in So very dignified way. Wish to ve your friend🤩
You really love liars...
"WOAH, WOAH. WHAT'S GOING ON?" - Some C4 Announcer 2020
I've Picked Up The Wrong Scripts!
Omid Scobie is a hired PR mouthpiece pretending to be a journalist. Zero credibility.
Product placement to the max for sure. ITV and C4, how they did not get C5 involved then it would been a full roadblock
Omid made valid points.
Worst adverts I've ever seen I had to come here to comment I literally mute the TV or switch off whatever I'm watching because of this TRASH
How were they not sued for this?
Probably because it was a ad for Specsavers
It’s called money
@@andyewing4143 and Specsavers paid both channel to collab for the ad
it was an ad for specsavers
Because when channel 4 launched itv helped ch4
That's my cousin
How come Channel 5 and Sky weren't involved?
One: channel 5 was not affiliated with EITHER channel 4 or ITV when it was launched. Two: sky is pay tv
Channel 5 (owned by MTV) is officially American. Sky is the same
@StepDownMuckyKey C5 is owned by Paramount, Sky is owned by Comcast
@@UAndWeAreSTV1 Paramount is still invalid So is your Comcast point
Not accidental.
can't accept the fun
@@diasstebanak I agree it's very fun but the title of this video (rather than the ad campaign itself) is misleading.
@@RBXTrains oh okay
I would love this information but the sound is shitty!!!
This is cool.
