A review of the year 2023-24, through photographs and video clips. We had an incredible year, learning, playing, praying and celebrating together!

At the end of the academic year, we gathered together to remember and give thanks for the countless wonderful memories made this year. We prayed for each other, that all may be kept safe during the summer, ready to return afresh in September.

During the month of May, a small group of our student chaplains had the opportunity to visit St Chad’s Sanctuary in Birmingham City Centre. Whilst there, they learnt about the phenomenal work they do in support of asylum seekers and refugees. The chaplains made a video record of what they learnt.

On Monday, 3rd June, 2024, pupils from St Edmund Campion Catholic School joined with pupils from Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Primary School to celebrate the ultimate gift of the precious Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the end of May 2024, we launched a poetry exhibition with the Abbey Primary School, entitled: 'REFUGE'. This took place at St Barnabas Church Centre in Erdington and was open to all. The exhibition featured poetry and artwork from both schools, expressing sympathy, love and tenderness towards all those seeking refuge in our country.

To honour Mary, our Blessed Mother, all Year 7 pupils processed around school while singing Marian hymns. At the end of the procession, a beautiful crown of flowers was lovingly placed upon Mary’s head, as we acknowledged her sovereignty over every aspect of our Catholic lives.

Students and staff were interviewed by our Chaplaincy Team about the meaning of 'refuge'. Their responses will be shown during the school's forthcoming poetry exhibition in Erdington.
