RE: The 4:40 to 6:00 range re: Julisa and Jahmal Latimer and the "Rise of the Moors". In short, I’ve concluded it’s related to pain trauma be it physical and or mental. It’s a self-enforcing psychological reaction that can only be corrected by study of self. I have been agreeing with what Dr. Jose Pimienta Bey is sharing for the last eight years and I feel great identifying as an Indigenous, Melanated Woman. To identify as black feels like someone else defines who I am. I know that many will defend to make positive out of what has been deemed a marker, a cursor, or a code. Yet, I feel compelled to not participate in the "black identity." I can account for my deceased parents -- a mother who could 'pass' as 'caucasian'; and a father who was often addressed as if his first name was...'black' and his middle name was his first name. Always being referred to as black Bobby. Naw, Imma pass on that being black because it is a very negative misnomer. My mother was abused b/c she was of the 'light-skin't persuasian; and my father was in survival mode b/c he was deemed 'black.' Yet, my consciousness feels free and respected in my identification as an Indigenous, Melanated Woman.

The terms we use identifying today's people like Black, White and Yellow are not meant to stigmatized no one intentionally but to bring a quick awareness to a cause or situation. In reality no one is actually Black, White or Yellow. It may shock some of you that the human family is of one race and color and that is Black or Dark Brown with different layers or shades of the same color. The darker you are the more melanined and the lighter the less melanined. There is no intellectual proficiency within a simple discussion of understanding. Get it!
