Thank you. It looks like there is a card payment machine in the car park. Have a lovely time.

You can pay by phone app at both car parks. There are beach toilets behind the heritage centre. Two cafes either side of car parks serve throughout summer and on weekends in spring and autumn if weather is dry.

Nice! ;) Want to come there already from Latvia! When is the best month? and how do You know about the low-tide schedule?

Oh it’s beautiful. The best time to come depends upon if you want to look for fossils? If you want fossils come in the winter months. After the winter storms the cliffs release fossils. The best place to stay is the town of Lyme Regis and it’s only ten minutes drive to the small village of Charmouth. The tides change every day and you need to look them up on a tide timetable. I will try to send you the link. Hope you have a great time. Bring your wet weather clothes!

Thank You! Will definetely come soon! Is Winter in England is Dec-Feb? Because in LV we consider it Nov-Mar :) Does the high tide reach even the cliffs?

How far do You go usually from Charmouth or Lyme Regis?

    • @daytripdebbie2006

@@greenflyblue the winter storms start in October and it will still be fairly mild temperatures then. The tide does go right up to the cliffs so there is a real danger of getting cut off. The safe thing to do is to start your walk as the tide is falling. Then you will have hours of safe hunting. Also avoid the weekends if possible. The beach is very busy then. I don’t know if you can stay in Charmouth there might be a campsite or bed and breakfast. If you stay in Charmouth you can walk to the beach if you are reasonably fit. Lyme Regis is a much bigger town and also has a fossil museum and lots of lovely shops and cafes. You would need a car to get to Charmouth from Lyme Regis. There is probably a bus??

Hi Debbie great to be here for the 1st time. I love this video, we live in Bournemouth so I just love the south coast unfortunately not many fossils in Bournemouth. But I do like hunting around Charmouth and Lyme Regis etc for fossils. Keep up the good work. Love and light Glenn and Sarah.

Thanks, Day Trip Debbie!! Sound advice. I was there last Saturday (25th Sep 2021) on a falling tide and it was one of those days where there seemed to be very little iron pyrite at all, let alone AP ammonites. And yet other days I find one after another after another ... There's always next time. It's just a pity that it's a 5 hour round trip for me when I'm not there for a week's holiday. By the way, as of last weekend the parking was £5 for all day (£3 for a few hours, but don't remember how many).

Thank you for updating the price for the car park. I know exactly what you mean about the ammonites. Some days I find one after the other. Then nothing next time. Lovely place to be though

I'm going to Charmouth with my wonderful mum this week, I've always wanted to go fossil hunting.. I hope I find something. I've always wanted to do paleontology xx thank you for a lovely video

You will love it. Try to go when the tide is falling. It is harder to find fossils in the summer especially when the sea is so smooth BUT keep looking at you never know your luck. I usually find a handful of small ammonites but that is in the winter. It’s a lovely spot. Have fun

@@daytripdebbie2006 thank you responding to my comment. I will have super fun, even if I don't find a fossil, I'll be bringing one with me (I love my mum really 😘😊). Xx
