Getting to know the Exige after 2 weeks of ownership on a damp day at Bedford GT. At midday I suffered stone damage to the auxiliary radiator. Taking it easy on the brakes as discs in need of replacement.

Last 4 laps of the day with Andre. Challenging day with a mix of mostly very slippery conditions and a few dry corners thrown in. The track was constantly changing throughout the day. All made worse by a douche in an Audi TT that crashed coming into Pflanzgarten, then continued to drive on, pouring oil all over the track. Thanks idiot!

Last session of the day, brakes inconsistent. Held up by 458 Speciale and shared the lead with a quick TT RS. Was down to the metal on the front left brake pads by the end of this session, hence my lack of confidence on the brakes and letting the TT by. Nearly pile into the back of the Porsche at the end!

Wow, that's great to hear! I didn't get much history with the car, though it sounded like it was imported by TW White Mazda dealer. How long did you have her for?

@@4packet Last we saw her was when she was sold in 07 to someone in wales it was my first heartbreak I'm sure my dad will reply but he got it in the early 00s
@@sebturner9699 @4packet Registered new November 1999 by Mazda then became flood salvage from one of their showrooms. Had 200 miles on the clock when I bought her around 2000/2001. Kept her until 2007 with 90k on her. As Seb said sold to a guy in Wales. Definitely a regret 😔 x

Nice laps. What sort of power are you running?
Thanks. It's a Raceline 270 with a custom quiet airbox. It supposedly made 261bhp when built. Only had it a few weeks.
Faster than the FD?
Identical best lap time. 0.75s faster optimum time according to RaceChrono. Still got a way to go with setup, although the RSR tyres on the FD are a handicap in comparison. Is yours fit for the track yet?

It’s really interesting to see just how much the v8 changes the characteristics of the handling.
How would you say the handling characteristics have changed?
@@4packet Something something perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Something something wankel behind the front axle. Something something wankel has a super low CG, because lack of valvetrain. Something something just 1300cc of displacement. Something something kicked out of Le Mans for being too good. At least, those are my guesses. Of course maybe the rotary proselyte is just taking a cheap shot, because you left the track unintentionally.

Awesome car, great lapping. We were there on the same day in a UK dark green E36 M3, I remember having a couple of fun laps chasing you and wondering what you must have had under the bonnet as we were being left for dead on the straights! What power output is the LS3 making?
Only taken me a year to see this, but do remember being chased by a well peddled green E36 near the end of the day. Was going to wander over and chat, but had to run for the Eurotunnel. LS3 is stock.
Which v8 do you run?
Tidy driving. Smart money says GTR is at least tuned. The way you gained on them in the trickier braking zones and did a better job stringing corners showed true skill level. He appeared compensating with power and corner exit acceleration.
Great car and driving mate. I enjoy watching all your vids. What have you done to the LS? I have a Bat in the build with an LS2 with LS3 heads. Cheers.

A bit deceptive perhaps, I was being pretty aggressive with it and it felt really stable. Previous setups have been far more comedy however!

very nice, good footage, wish it was even better quality, but its nothing I have the right to complain about. Nurburgring is just a car enthusiast's place of worship lol. One day i do hope to take my '89 turbo supra around there against my buddy's 2.5RS Impreza GC8. Altho my car is in no condition to be thrashed around just yet which leaves me to enjoy Nurburgring on Gran Turismo 5 with Logitech G25.... keeps me sane with my car out of commision for the time being while I put her back together.

@icecoldbrew92 thats not true. the supra was a JGTC MONSTER for years because of its increadible rigid body and amazing power plant. it was one of the best handling cars of its time.
pretty much all supras are oriented twards drag and straight up power. not track cars
well if you hear the prototyte of f40 that have 600hp you will regret that statement :p
