Part one of my full CGI short film series. Stay tuned for the next parts. It was very hard working, because the story, I was thinking about, wasn´t matching.... It took so much more time, than I was expecting.... Well, every detail you are watching in this part, was made in Blender and composed in DaVinci Resolve. A huge thanks to my brother Dennis for his support.

Thank you for this video bro for real. Just took my render time from overnight down to an hour for a simple render.
Thank you!
POTATO???
Can you please drop a 15 minute long tutorial on texture projection mapping and texture painting? In blender 4.0
neat
@1:50 your grey previews look better than my renders!
Does thid work for videos?
It depends, you need to try it. The racing animation is rendered with this method. Most parts are fine but to be fair, you should use it for commercials
4:29 im having trouble copying the photo here, like with the multiply next to the principled BSDF i cant find the exact node for that, im not sure if its math, or what. and principled bsdf is also different to the one that you show in the photo, other than that i’ve copied literally everything and i cant get the accretion disk to form around the black hole, but i do see the light distortion very well
You are probably using blender 4.0+ This tutorial is made with 3.x
@@davidkohlmann ohh okay, i was eventually able to get it sorted out, thanks for telling me though!
@@mistaken7996 what node is it?
great work, exellent color grading.
thanks for sharing this wonderful tutorial <3
Does the ending video different with the start? (By using your method)
When I rendered images in new blender version out put image colour was different than to render result how to fix it
Check you color management. Don't use standard, instead AgX or Filmic if it's not blender 4+ Alsoncheck your overwrite settings for the color management. If this option is enabled, you will get different results.
Thank you I'll try

How did you became a master of Material node? Is it possible to learn this power?
😂Iam not a master at all, but ty
Bro that's amazing! Thanks for the tutorial!
Merci 😊
david how do i make the background less static looking
You could rotate the HDRI with a mapping node. But a background is generally static, especially in space 😁
Thanks alot
Thank you
It’s insane dude! Thanks for sharing ❤
Ty❤️
I've been using Blender for years and I never knew this was possible. Great video
Thx! ❤️
Nicely done!
Hello, Thank you for the video, one thing is that nothing changes when I load my background image to Environment Texture! Can you advice please what can i try to resolve it 🙏! Thied the one from NASA as well, no results at all
Did you enable the setting next to your put outliner? It asks you to use internal or external source.
@@davidkohlmann I probaply need tutorial for that as well, to enable the setting next to my put outliner 🤦♂🤣😂🤣 Im new in blender, just did few projects 🤷♂ Thank you any ways 🙏😉
Such a great video! I'm starting out with blender for rendering keyboards/keycaps for my company and I was quite confused with the huge amount of load on my CPU. Thanks.
I once wanted to make a short scifi film of about 5 minutes. But because of the rendering, which takes a lot of time, I gave up Blender. Nothing has changed since then. I never want to understand why such programs take so long to render. You can see what the games industry can do in real time. Not every single point is calculated there either. I think this rendering industry wants to fool us.
You can't compare game engine rendering with blender, Maya and so on. Two complete different calculations. And also with two different optical outputs. It's just not possible to achieve the same realism with realtime rendering, at least nowadays. It can look close but not exactly the same. Maybe it will change ins some years
i'm following your tutorial and nah, this not working like it should be.. this bad as fvck.. sorry to say
you probably wont see this but in blender 3.5 there is no shadow so what do i use instead
In the correction node?
@@davidkohlmann no in the render layers
there is no way to turn shadow on in the view layer properties
i found out its is because im using cycles not eevee
@@TheRaptorsGameYT xD
how do i get this need for speed car model for free?

@@abuhuriraruman7354 sry but then you need to model it by yourself. Search for blueprints and real-life references and take your time 😊
@@davidkohlmann okk..
how to bake it?
Bake tutorials are your friend
Holy, you're a damn lifesaver. Cut down my rendering time on my 30 second WIP animation from 18 hours to 14 minutes. Goddamn. Thank you.
David wann kann ich den BMW kaufen? 😭
Haha, wenn ich den Innenraum fertig habe. Bin noch nicht dazu gekommen. 😂
This is incredible how much useful information in just 13 minutes!
Whats your config pc bro ?
I am using a GTX 1060 6gb But for some reason it ALWAYS heats up and takes Years to render and when I hit Cycles The whole device is on life support although from the videos of people using it they look like they are not having trouble..it runs smoothly fine…now it’s not issue in the GTX 1060 itself it’s not damaged or anything i just don’t know why it doesn’t function well maybe I have settings issues or the Processor Isn’t good enough (it’s i7 gen 8)
What is your pc specs?
lol, the only reason UE is comparative to Cycles is because you don't fully use the features available in Cycles.
Thanks for the tutorial !
I have a suggestion. You can connect an RGB node to the subsurface radius. That makes it a lot easier to visualize what color you are using, instead of doing it by the numbers.
wow rend!
How do you make a car
Modeling 😂
i found this in a dictionary right next to "Min-Maxxing". nice definition. if you wasn't doing this on blender, you'd be fuckin' killer on Mario64. i'm glad you chose blender.
It's an amazing work flow if you're building a scene for animation... But for static render, I'm not sure if it export and import process is worth it.
Exactly ✌️you got it
DUUUUDE, i didnt even know that it was possible!
what is the equivalent of connecting mist, shadow, AO to the color ramps in Cycles?
You can control the strength with it. Or with other words. You can control the black and white values to increase or decrease the contrast.
Mist and shadow doesn't appear for me like it does in your video, there's dots for indirect light transmission and more but I cant find a way to make shadow and mist in the list
I guessed that it was because I was using cycles but maybe it's something in my settings
@@kasiaklorek7338 check your "view layer" properties. There you can enable all you need 😊
I learnt of the strengths of unreal while taking my college courses in animation and a tutor mentioning it in passing and being astonished at how fantastic it was for workflow. I never learnt how to set up the projects as effciently as this though so this helps a lot The fact that I can make huge changes in a scene to fit feedback or catch small inadequicies in a project last minute is so refreshing. I truly believe it's an invaluable asset if you're winning to learn it like this video 🙏
How do you make the surrounding light moves?
What do you mean?
@@davidkohlmann for the animation, i want to make the light that surrounds the blackhole move
@@CalmRelaxing. You mean the glowing disk right? I just used a driver to rotate it constantly. "#frame/50" for example for the rotation value. Depending to your rotation speed it needs to be changed to a different number then 50.
@@davidkohlmann you use the insert keyframes right?
@@CalmRelaxing. Yes but not with a simple number, instead use what I wrote before. #frame.....
Does reducing Light sources maximum Bounces reduce render time? By default every light source has a 1024 max bounces wich sounds like over kills if iam being right
You limiting the light bounces with the overall setting for diffuse, glossy, transmission, volume etc.
Hi, i have problem with acceleration disk, its invisible and i have the same size and settings in it. can u help me?
damnnnnnnnnnnnn left from 6hrs to 20mins like what?! Thanks top G. resolution goooooood.
Ive learned a lot ty.
Awesome! The good thing about blender is that you can do the same thing in different ways and all of them give nice results! I thought that you were going to use color attribute a lot of times, but this way of masking using black and white were just PERFECT, new stuff learned! thanks!
Ty😊 And yes many ways equal results. Iam still amazed how much blender offers until you force some limitations. Especially for open source.
