Mego Corporation had some of the most wanted toys/action figures of the 1970's and 80's. With a lot of TV and movie rights to produce the starring actors into an 8" action figure. From Chips planet of the apes star trek and many more. I've managed to pick up a couple of red hot boys from the 70's TV show Starsky & Hutch.

That was my first GI Joe, probably 1971. Somehow my folks managed to get hold of the pre-Adventure Team version that late in the game.

Great video, I'm a big mego collector myself, got a lot of the new figures also a lot of vintage star trek, planet of the apes,and palitoy space 1999,i just need two more to complete the set,and they don't come cheap.
Just started Collecting Mego again Paul I bloody love them The star trek figures are the ones i'm after, but like you said big money. You got some great bargains Chris. The Rover is amazing and I’ve seen some of the dolls here in the states but not the Rover. Have fun with that one. L Ranger came out great too. You did good my friend. Do you do all Megos or just certain franchises! Keep it up!!

@@diecastattic126 They got me for multiple figures and no they haven’t sent any of them out yet. Paypal won't return my money because it's been too long. At this point I consider the money lost and the community just needs to keep letting collectors know not to use them or any affiliate of them.

I've started looking into them recently After all of my childhood toys were sold by my parents when I was about 15 (which I totally understand) when I see some of the toys I had I try to buy them. then this turn into getting the one's I see and like. then that turns into having to get the whole collection. as you know we are cursed thanks again Chris
Nothing beats this era of toys Chris. I have my 6M $ man in storage. The ads were similar to ours here. The playability was great. 👍🏻

Am I dreaming or am I correct that Palitoy released a 1:1 dressing up costume so kids could be an action man themselves. I did have this outfit that had a red beret with badge, a wooly pully in green, khaki trousers, a plastic belt. Pretty sure there were also walkie talkie sets you could get and a playtent too, probably also some toy guns, I did have a plastic tommy gun. Time would be between 1975-77 when I was 7-10?

My mom worked for chadvally and was eventually made redundant when they closed down one of the factorys that might of got the licence I think palatoy did buy chadvally out

Quite a few of my more than 1500 G.I. Joes were broken or missing a limb. A few were restored, but most became casualties in bandages, slings, on crutches or lying on stretchers with medics tending them. On of my best dioramas.❤❤❤❤❤

What a brilliant documentary, I was one of those kids that dumped Action man for Star Wars. I had so much and, so sad it's all gone by the way.
I live about 6 miles from the old palitoy factory and have a lot of friend that worked or knew somebody that worked they. and ask about any stories but for them it was just a job.

I like what you did with the car 🚗 My action man officer cadet boxed is still in its box never been taken out and is still attached to the inlay card. Got the 82 action man talking commander and I like to get the soldier to go with him. Getting hold of an action man book be ideal to know what came with each figure so you know what to look out for if items are missing

Collecting action man and 12" Star Wars figures and thinking of Matchbox cars boxed hopes. As had these cars as a kid

@@davidneal9368 mate your in trouble now once you start you just can't stop. For me the fun is in the hunt like your pilot helmet you and get them but not complete . @@diecastattic126 I found that. No sooner you buy one or two action man figures you want to go out the next day and pick up another one. I regret giving away my first action man, along with uniforms Tank, cannon and boat. Had them right up to the early 200s. Couple years or so I wanted to get hold of an Action man. So early months of last year I bought an 82 action man talking commander with eagle eyes. Then started in February bought a 1973 field commander with field radio boxed complete with paperwork and a G.I Joe duke unboxed. Saved money so picked up a spare uniform. March 73 pilot in blue jump suit Scout car and land rover Jeep. April 2 action men figures from the 2000s and dinghy complete with motor board. May a Officer cadet boxed art Science Hasbro, a small bag of weapons and an Action man trunk. Also a female figure from the Star Wars Force of destiny. Next day Fin and a storm trooper. This month 2 more figures from the Star Wars Force of destiny. obi wan Canobi boxed and the younger version of Obi-Wan Mustard colour unboxed and small assortment of action man helmets pistols. Now can't wait till next month see what else I can pick up. First thing the woman said when I called in to the vintage toy shop was. Have you caught the bug😆

I dont think that little big men came with feet the legs just plugged into the plastic boots,had two of the basic green uniform and the ski patrol set,dont remember them being on sale for long.if you need another support for the trailer i have a good one and one snapped on the top but think both have the feet studs and a resonable condition tilt going spare as iv just been tidying up my collection of vehicles from the 70s.the landrover would fix up well and you could custom it for other operations round the world.

It's a winner for the figures alone easy fix, new grippers, re-string and a clean up, the one lone boot is a German Jackboot for the figure, great video 👍
