Gus Klados recalls his early Athens Metro TBM drive experiences
Archaeological finds ahead of metro excavation works in the heart of ancient cities can uncover astonishing treasures but the real impact of the archaeological past on progress can be something quite different. Gus Klados recounts his experiences of working on the Athens Metro Lines 1 and 2 TBM running tunnel drives in the late 1990s to know of particular ancient city challenges. The Athens Metro project for Gus follows his experiences on the Kolkata Metro in India from his home country Budapest Metro in Hungary czcams.com/video/ZwK6zdblTEA/video.html and from there to the UK side of the Channel Tunnel railway connection to France and then to South Africa for the Lesotho Highlands Water Project czcams.com/video/I2rRqaU-DTQ/video.html. Currently Gus is engaged with Gamuda on metro and rail projects in Sydney and Melbourne in Australia following his engagements with Gamuda in Kuala Lumpur on the city's metro and its combined road and floodwater management SMART tunnel infrastructure.

Circular TBM excavation is the common option but when a flat invert is required it is a machine to cut a rectangular profile that is needed. In addressing the need, Robbins has developed the MDM5000, a gripper machine that cuts a full width flat invert profile in hard rock in the first pass. Brad Grothen of Robbins discusses the attributes of circular hard rock TBMs and how they have been appli...

i don't see the point of building a freeway parallel to citylink... but the rest of it? maybe one day.
The one built will be the one to open the key to the bottomless pit.
Give me a lego set anyday.

Watch out for the weasel.
The one been built os sufficient for the apocalypse.

I was watching Eliie talk about THE BORING COMPANY, then i thought what about the rest of the TBM Industry!? Well hopefully this comment encourages you to make more weekly or Biweekly content. I know TBM operations are occurring all over the world all the time. I wanna know whats new! 😅
Another big waste of tax money & this is the reason to evade as much tax as possible in this country as they waste the money on destruction like this anyway… take the money back from the government every which way possible. Don’t work rely on government handouts, create our own lockdowns to bring a corrupt economy to a halt!
It's just going to turn into a bunch of homeless Junkies living in there
Just like the second coming is coming. This vital project will happen. Long after the Dictator of this State is gone🚛🚛🚛🚗🚗🚗
A waste of time a waste of money

Real shame that this project hasn’t yet come to fruition. Hopefully over the next decade or so.
I will never use these tunnels as they are guaranteed to collapse as they are built by Indians. Only idiots will use these roads & contribute back to this corruption
Decade or so? Are you completely out of touch? Has the human race turned to a shit pile or what!
NJT got screwed over so bad by Christie it's so frustrating that he ruined what could have been a dream come true

So much effort just for one road. Why not go around it or build over it?

Just drove through this tunnel for the first time and until then at my 39 year old life I did not even know about it. It is let’s say extremely tight for any tunnel I’ve ever driven through
I never would have known. Very impressive!
Is this project completed now?
This is remarkable. How did they do this. This is crazy

I was driving through this tunnel and an debate came up. I was like there is no way the tunnel is completely underwater and if it is... it couldn't be safe. I guess I was wrong.
