Suzuki DF25A with 10-1/4X9 pitch propeller | Not what I expected
So far the OEM Suzuki 10 pitch propeller is out performing the OEM Suzuki 9 pitch and the Solas 9 pitch as far as speed goes. All while having lower RPM than the two 9 pitch props tested. I’m going to bring the tachometer out next time I’m on the water to see what the actual RPM with the OEM Suzuki 9 is but being 1 MPH slower is not a good sign.

Today had air temps in the mid 90's with water temps between 69-71 degrees. Pitching and jigging to the fish was unsuccessful so I switched to trolling a Berkley Flicker Shad 5 and a Worden's Spin N Glo Bottom Walker with a Berkely Hammered Crawler harness behand it. Troll speeds were between 1.3-1.6MPH which is what the Saugeye wanted today. They were holding on bottom and slightly above botto...
Suzuki 25HP Propeller Test (2024 DF25A)
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed 2 měsíci
Today we are comparing a factory Suzuki DF25A 10-1/4X10 pitch propeller versus a Solas 11X9 pitch propeller. The hole shot with the 9 pitch felt quicker but I had a harder time maintaining top speed. I was able to increase the RPM by ≈ 80 RPM. With the 10 pitch I felt more consistent thrust at the top end but left a lot more RPM on the table.

This is day two of the break in procedure on the water. Worked up to 1/2 throttle, 3/4 throttle and eventually full throttle. I still have seven hours of break in left until I can run full throttle for more than five minutes but so far I’m pleased with the performance. 10 pitch propeller ram 17.2 MPH at 5200ft elevation.

The Best Way To Catch Brown Trout | Dillon Reservoir

Today I was trolling on Dillon Reservoir and able to put a few trout in the boat. The lakes surface temperature varied between 41° and 46° depending on what part of the lake I was on. I didn’t have my downriggers today so the technique I used was snap weights to get my lures at the correct depth. The Berkley Flicker Shad is a staple lure for me on the lake and always performs well. Amazon Links...

Buddy I have the same motor and 32 mph is my max, you must have a heavy heavy boat!!! 😱 my boat is under 300 lbs.
Yeah brochure says my boat is about 900lbs dry.
I have one of those! I love the sound! Gotta little growl
Cool 👍😎
What’s the altitude change that you need to rejet it for?
I do must of my fishing between 6000ft-9000ft
Thanks for using Eagle Claw!
Hey there… just bought this exact motor as well. What battery would you recommend using? After changing the oil after the 10 hour break in period should I stick with the 10-30 oil and change the filter? Thanks -Brady
I’m running an old marine lead acid at the moment and it’s worked just fine. And I would say stick with the 10W30
@@trollin2021got it! Thanks much!
Thanks For Fishing Eagle Claw!
I wstched this video from the Ausdie boat guy. czcams.com/video/GE1_5IHxCTU/video.htmlsi=c9wcpu97ow7_rnWm He mentions casting marks and blade width thickness and how it can effect preformance. A good prop guy should help ya....good luck
Hello. What was your max rpm with 9 pitch propeller? And maybe the 9 pitch one is heavier than the 10 pitch one because of the thickness. I got a suzuki df25a and i had the same problem as you. My prop was big for my boat which is 10.25/10. I just grinded it to make it samaller. I know its not good solution as buy a new 9 pitch one. But i can say it worked . My speed and my rpm is increased. For your situation i can only say the thickness of blade can be a problem.
I’m thinking so as well. I didn’t bring my tachometer out for this test because I figured it would be faster and I wouldn’t have to worry about it but since it was slower, I’ll have to bring it out on my next trim and see.
Awesome
Super informative. Nice video. I just moved to Breck and plan to do some jigging in Dillon. Have you ever done that?
No I haven’t but I know the ice fishing is decent for the arctic char in there.
Have a look at Lifeproof Boats in State of Washington. Three different classes professional, yachtline and pleasure craft. I have been looking and lusting for a while but need to win the lottery first. Also looking at OXE diesel outboard power.
Theres only 1 boat out of all the ones on your list. 22 Pac Pro Self Bailing Deck and No Foam !!!

Новый меркурий 5 сил у старого переключение хода было сбоку у этого спереди
Это мотор докатка. Нужен когда накрылся основной.
I agree, the taller diameter was too much. I bent my prop and went with a solas 10.5x11. Factory was 10.25x11. They say to load the the boat with your normal load and check the rpm at wot...adjust from there. Mine was tachin at 5800rpm/26mph. Quick question for ya, does your motor have a shake to it until it hits around 1100rpm then smoothes out?
As soon as I crack mine off idle it smooths out but it does shake at idle. I’ll be making a video on the OEM Suzuki 10.25X9 here shortly, it seems better than the Solas so far.
just got mine in april...cheap tach helped to keep it under the break in rpms. It is definitely a time consuming process.
Явно маловат для данного судна
Мне казалось что он тише работает, а однако нет, тоже тарахтит. Может это не Меркурий?
That's some good speed for a 25 hp. What the max speed on a clear day?
The best I’ve gotten is 17.3MPH. I just got an OEM Suzuki 9 pitch I need to try.
@@trollin2021 that's really good. I have a 16 16 foot polar craft. It gets to 21 with a 20 hp Yamaha.
That 6 hp is a work horse.
I love mine.

Suzuki replied that E5 PB 98 may cause the engine to overheat at maximum speed and they recommend E10 PB95 fuel. What valuable comments can you recommend to help me get this Suzuki right? Bede was starting to do the first 20mth Can I safely transport it in the trunk on the designated transport side? Nothing will happen ?
Suzuki would know best so trust what they say. As far as transportation the engine is marked on the side that it is safe to be laid on.
I bought a new SUZUKI DF15, can you advise me what fuel to use, E10 PB95 or E5 PB98?
I would aways go with the fuel with the lowest ethanol rating so I would do the E5 98.
I searched for a local gas station that still sold reg 87 with no ethanol
@@trollin2021 I drained the oil from the Suzuki DF15 after about 10 hours. I left it in the bottle and after a few days a white precipitate formed from the oil at the bottom, a lot of it. What could it be and what cause could it be? New engine, only 10 hours old I also see that at high speeds, white smoke comes out of this nozzle near the cooling water nozzle
@przemysaw124 I’m not sure about the white substance in your oil. I have emailed Suzuki Marine and before and they got back to me within my a few days so it might be worth shooting a photo of it over to them. Is the white smoke there as soon as you start the motor up or after it runs for a while?
@@trollin2021 Such a delicate smoke seems to appear later, but only at more than 3/4 throttle speed, because I already have 11 hours, so I allow myself to max out for a while.
Tohatsu!
if u still haven’t gotten a plated boat yet., u should look up at Stabicraft Boats 😉
WHAT SIZE BOAT
18.5ft aluminum fishing boat. Dry weight is just under 1000lbs.
Big boat for a 25hp. I doubt you need that kicker, except maybe for an emergency. Nice video, good call on dropping a pitch.(or 3) keep her light.
Yeah for the future I would recommend nothing less that a 40HP for a similar boat set up. Waiting on a OEM Suzuki 9 pitch to come in, that’s the smallest pitch available.
Is the braid necessary or just a different backing?
I like using the braid as a backing because when it’s time to replace the mono I don’t have to use 500ft of mono every time I respool the reel. The braid basically lasts forever and I only need to replace about 200ft at a time
Whats the kit number for that motor

River Wild tiller
My 21’ North River has the 1/4” bottom and was my 1st choice in an aluminum boat. Nice ride!
It’s starting to sound like North River and Raider are the way to go.
Raider is the only manufacturer that I know of using 1/4 inch plate aluminum for their bottoms. And they're beautiful boats with pretty awesome options.
Plus their side thickness is as thick as most manufacturers bottom thickness.
@@trollin2021 Yeah! I think it's .190, a mere .060 difference. Some would complain about the extra weight until they got into heavy seas.
Hewescraft, made in Colville wa. Excellent quality. Workhorse in Alaska. Northriver made in Roseburg Oregon. Excellent quality and very durable. Northwest jet, made in Clarkston Wa. Same group as Weldcraft and Duckworth. I run a 2015 northwest 218 lightning. Great boat. Fishes nicely
Also Raider. Out of Colville Wa. Started by some guys from Hewescraft. Excellent quality and a rugged boat like Hewescraft.
You should look into North River Boats, out of Roseburg Oregon. #1 in Quality, Durability, and Customization.
I would have to say after going to the Seattle boat show this year North River and Raider had the nicest quality and lay out options.
What no Lund Boats ? I can tell you Lund's are heavy duty. I really like mine, hit logs, run up on rocky beaches, no trouble in 5 yrs.
@bruced1429 I have the Lund Barron on there, and don’t get me wrong Lunds are great boats but the Barron is the only “heavy gauge” comparable one they make. This video was heavy gauge specific and if the viewers wanted I was going to make another video more tailored to boats like Lund, crestliner, Smoker Craft, Alumacraft, Polar Craft etc.
Those aren't lifetime boats for that type of duty. Rivets and thickness aren't the same quality
I just ordered one of these. How has it worked out for you?
It’s been good I’ll slowly be replacing my older reels with these ones.
How do you like it??
I ended up selling that boat shortly after installing it so unfortunately I never got it use it.
I just bought one. Thank you for the video turned out great just out of curiosity how much did you pay for yours? I got one that was about two years old for 320 bucks.
Glad it helped. Mine was $450 off of marketplace
I know this is an older video but i just built one with this upper and got 1/2 moa with the berger 80.5.
Were you hand loading them or factory ammo?
Thanks for the video! Very helpful. One thing to mention is this Easy Troll model doesn't come with the cable guide hook. I bought mine thinking it was missing but I see you don't have one either and a call to Cannon's customer service confirmed that it is only supplied with the Uni Troll models even though it is depicted on the owners manual. Thanks!
That’s a good point. I believe you can order the one designated for the Uni troll and install it on the Easi troll if you’d like!
I'm also looking at heavy guage boats. You should look at Stabicraft. I'm looking at the 1550 fisher or Thunderjet 186. Around the same price. I'm leaning to Stabicraft
Stabicraft are neat looking boats. My only concern would be how bulky they are around the water line.
@@trollin2021 They are foam filled chambers. Keeps the boat very stable at rest. The boat is close to unsinkable. Look up the video on YT where they try to sink one. It also keeps the boat very dry when underway.
Thank u
I bought a new white one back in the summer for my 1232 aluminum jon boat. It is a really sweet little motor.
Agreed. it’s nice and quiet and starts up easy
@@trollin2021 Yep. If you follow a few simple guidelines, mine starts in 1 or 2 pulls every time, even after sitting for weeks. And strangely enough, though it has the largest displacement of all the Japanese 6 HP 4-stroke outboards, at only 52 pounds it is still the lightest by a good margin. Suzuki made weight a top priority, which is really important to an old geezer like myself. And, as a lifelong gearhead, I can tell you there is simply no replacement for displacement. This means it can be more conservatively tuned, so you get the same power as the others but at a more leisurely RPM. This is great for things like noise ratings, fuel consumption, high frequency vibration and engine life. I am really loving mine.
Were u using snap weights ? If so how many oz
The Panther Martins were flat lined and I used a 2oz snap weight for the triangle flasher with the weight about two feet under water
I think browns are one of the best eating trout.
