    Vikings being Maritime warrior culture for thousands of years before the Viking age desire beautification covering all possessions in their lives and that everything be unique. A lot of blacksmiths received layered steel alloys as billets in trade deals from Iran then work and design that weapon as the warrior/buyers wish.

    I have the exact same set up as you. The difference is that I read the manual. If you had, you would have known that the ceramic disk supplied with the standard tool is for removing burrs, not sharpening. Also at 50:13, when you referred to the “Plunge” I imagine you meant the ricasso. Otherwise I thought this to be a very well considered in depth review of an impressive, though rather expensive, piece of kit.

      @TacticalReviews Před měsícem

      Hi @ruadhagainagaidheal9398 thanks for your input. Just to add a little information based on your comments, if you take a look at HORL's website and the product page for just the ceramic disk, you can see their description of this stone on its own. I was also lucky enough to spend time directly with the HORL team workshopping the use of this sharpener. The plunge line is the transition from primary bevel to ricasso. I was referring to this feature intentionally. As a knife feature the plunge line makes a huge difference to many aspects of use and maintenance, so is always an important design factor in a blade and a point of reference in knife testing.

    Hi my friend! I saw your article about GLO-TOOB CR123A. Make a video of the red version and post it on CZcams. 😃

    I have the Nitecore EMR 10 and used it once on my last Tarp Wild Camp czcams.com/video/LVs2W5ed8rE/video.htmlsi=Sinc4MGP6DRVfHJ2 . I am going to use it for a year and give my conclusion. However I have to admit I am one of those guys who gets bit to death with Mosquitos. This time however I noticed that the Mosquitos were around as usual but were passive. I am pleased to report I had no bites whatsoever. The mosquitos were not interested in me at all. This is not conclusive as many factors may have been involved, but it is the first time ever I have not been bit to death (on a Tarp wild camp in a UK National Park lol. Time will tell.

    Most excellent guide, thankyou for sharing! I have ordered my EMR 10 last week from Knives and Tools UK and hoping to get it next week. Last adventure I had with a Tarp czcams.com/video/YiWb1G0UaHM/video.htmlsi=W48Ae2U1eIstQG2P I was bit all over lol. The Mosquitos love my blood. So wife has insisted I do something about it for the summer on my wild camps (that is what happens when you are married to a Doctor lol). Ordered the pads from Hong Kong and should have them next week. Liked and Subscribed

    I'm sorry mate but this is hardly a review. You read up some specs and tell us every we can see on their website. A review would be to show us edge retention, flex on the rotation, flex of the blade while cutting, maybe even oxidation speed. Info on how it feels in the hand would be good too. The camera setup and lighting are very good, and I like the format of 60s reviews. Just step up the content and you're good!

      Thanks for your interest. Did you read the video description? Are you familiar with Tactical Reviews? 60 seconds is over much too quickly to include more than an introduction to the review. The description and structure explains it is a short format video. The main review is the full article published on Tactical Reviews website. Both the short form video and main video are also only a part of the published review. Tactical Reviews is a review website with video content included as part of the full review.

      Videos on this channel are only one small part of the review material published. Intentionally, these videos are recorded as 'box fresh' so the knife is unused to show how it arrives new. As the review videos are embedded in the full review, they are always released first while testing continues and the final review is prepared. The full review is available on tacticalreviews.co.uk/ once completed.

      If you can keep pressure onto the spine of the blade as you sheathe and unsheathe it, this helps prevent what you mention. Of course this is not always possible. I love the sheath latch but then it does have this tendency.

    What are the continuous working hours that the device can bear WSKTS-KO-ELT ?

    • @TacticalReviews
      @TacticalReviews Před 3 měsíci

      A very good question, and not as clearly answered as I would like by Worksharp. The Ken Onion sharpener duty cycle, as published by Worksharp, only on their website, is "1 Hour Continuous" and their instructions then state "Allow tool to cool to room temperature between rated operating periods." without actually giving you the rated operating period. So to me this reads as you can use the tool for 1 hour non-stop, then you must let it fully cool to room temperature (how long does that take?) I would put this at an approximate 50% duty cycle on the basis of it taking an hour to fully cool down, but this is just a guess.

    Thanks for this meticulous and thorough look at the blade grinding attachment. Your video is better than anything from Worksharp. I've just bought this set, and my first impression is that the blade grinding attachment is higher quality and much more robust than the sharpener itself.

    A Chinese firewood cleaver( close to 1cm thick at the spine and wider at the tip) can easily beat this thing, and does not need the help of pounding by another firewood. The blade on this thing is just not thick and wide enough...

    • @TacticalReviews
      @TacticalReviews Před 5 měsíci

      I'd have to agree, that powered sharpeners are indeed all too easy to go too far with. The great thing about the Worksharp is the speed control on the belt. It is not a one speed only, it is fully adjustable right down to a very slow speed. The blade tip is very easy to get wrong on a 'slack belt', but there are ways round this.
