For clarity, when he says "level," he's often referring to "flat." A sloping grade can be very flat but not level. Great video with good tips and it explains important considerations for a proper installation. Long levels make for a good straight edge to check flatness but not necessarily level depending on your installation.

Informative video. Thank you. What "Steamboat Ken' basically used is commonly referred to as a 'storyboard'. I'm intrigued by Ken leaving the tension-er hardware fully exposed on the inside of the run, it def has it's appeal, as opposed to your leaving the hardware threaded ends overly long and just capping it with the acorns...no offense. I'm using all black hardware so leaving the hardware exposed will have even less visual impact...will have to give that some thought......thanks again.

This would never be permitted in our area that close to water. But the soils did look like a nice sandy loam.

Your gardens are beautiful! The deer are very aggressive eaters here where I am and found that stayed away from boxwood, lavender,catmint and prickly evergreens. With the success that I’ve had with those it has given me the confidence to experiment a little more by adding other deer resistant plants. Thanks for the suggestions I’m going to look for some of those

Hi, we are trying to buy supplies for cable railing for wood posts on our stairs. They only sell 30 and 45* protectors sleeves, but our stairs are ~38*. Do you think the protectors they sell will still work? I've called and asked and they didn't know the answer for some reason and cannot find this answer anywhere else for any other product but it's unreasonable to assume all stairs are exactly 30*.

Your video is very helpful. One question I have is: I have a sump pump with outside drainage that is open to air, wouldn't the fan suck the in air from that outside drainage pipe?

I have been researching how to do something like this for our yard. I have found many complicated theories or straight lines. I have a curved staircase that expands at the bottom in mind. Thank you for taking some of the legwork out for me with the supply company tip. What do you mean by “screened finds”? You go through your pile of rocks, lining up similar heights? Or are you talking about screening them before purchase? The latter seems like it wouldn’t be an option.

Thank you for this video! I am curious what your readings were before the mitigation install? I just bought a radon detector and Im getting levels above 8. Our sump pump has never had a cover. My first step, is going to be to buy the cover you show. I think just a cover may bring our levels down a bit. And then I am going to do basically exactly what you did here. Did you run the wiring for the fan right out of the same foundation opening for the vent pipe?
