Did u put it in towing mode? Jc, I towed about 1200 lbs in mine for 4 hour drive and got 18mpg. I was going about 80ish mph as well.

A few companies did this . Half a V-8. Many parts are interchangeable with the V-8 models. My 62 international scout had a 1/2 V-8 too.

I had an XR4I in the UK and it had a V6 naturally aspirated fuel injection and ran out at 160 bhp… quick in the day, they also did a XR 4x4 split rear 60%40% front viscous coupled drive… the car handled well… great in the winter months…
