Loved my GSP! They need a yard or area that provides a lot of room to run. As a young puppy they have tons of energy! It took two years before she understood all the commands that I trained her to perform. But once she reached about 2 years old, she suddenly became a genius. A great hunter, a great companion and the best dog that I ever had. She passed at the age of 10 from cancer. She has been gone for a year now and will always be remembered!

As a former Shorthaired Pointer, I loved my dog. Very high energy during their first two year. Loved to hunt and run in the fields. They need a place to run and bury energy off. Not for an apartment, unless you have time to let them out where they can run. After the first two years the will begin to settle down. Very smart and can be trained!

My brother, plus other friends have had a total of 17 Black Lab's. So - I bought a English Springer Spaniel. Red was with me for 17 years, and I still have his picture a year after he went to that wonderful dog meadow in the sky... I am looking at a Shorthair puppy next week.

The dog shown on 1:22 is definitvely not a German shorthaired Poiner it looks like a English Setter. The dog shown at 0:02 is German Wirehaired Pointer. What do you think about learning more about dog breeds and than doing your videos again?

let me emphasize - they need ALOT of exercise every single day or they will be distructive.

My boy Ford is the most loyal and most intelligent dog I've ever had. This is saying a lot as I've raised border collies before. He was abused in his previous household. Because of this, he has a very strong distrust for strangers. It's often mistaken for bad behavior.

I grew up with them, amazingly athletic. One of the ones we had was the runt of the litter, just under 60lbs. with only a couple steps he could jump from the driveway into the back of my dad's dumptruck (about 4 feet off the ground) and land like he was just taking a stroll. They are most happiest and frankly look like an oil painting come to life in the field. Great dog, but you need to live the very active life needed for such athletic dogs.

is this an AI generated channel? Some images don't seem to be photos. I'm all for art. But those wide ears, glow, shine and fuzzy background seem to be art. perhaps computer generated art. If so, it's very pleasing but those wide ears are not the most common appearance.. Voice seems reverb with music. AI? These days you gotta wonder. It's a lot of videos very fast... I love GSP's though. Look for NorCalGSPRescue. Not as fast videos, but real dogs.

Mine will run at my cats but to play they get along fine its all a big game cat don't run she don't chase my gsp sleeps with 2 cats u have too put effort u know work most gsps are smarter than u maybe you should stick to gerbils

Having owned several GSPs, I would not trust the cat and the GSP alone together. Most consider cats to be squeaky toys.

Any dog can be trained for any sport, but to actually do well in the sport, only the field will tell.

*GSPs are the best!* However, they are not for everybody! They do not do well in cities and they do not like to be left alone. They do okay in the suburbs or near/suburbs with a strong and tall fence. But they are not an outdoor dog. Their energy is off the charts and they require at least three (3) long walks a day plus a safe area for play.
