Concrete Raised Garden Bed Molds - Plastic ABS Portland Cement based Forms
Make a long-lasting rot-proof raised garden bed by casting your own concrete panels with these abs durable plastic molds. These concrete forms have a removable pipe that forms a hole in the overlapping end of the cast garden box wall. Rebar is inserted in the holes to pin the corners together either in a straight line or at a 90 degree corner. I've been making these wooden molds and casting these concrete garden box panels for around 10 years now. 5 years ago I made a video showing my first wooden mold design from plywood. In the years since I've refined and simplified the design in an attempt to make them easier to build, and to also experiment with making the panels lighter.
Not everyone who wants a raised concrete garden bed has the tools or ability to make their own molds. That's where these new plastic forms come in. Now you don't have to build anything at all. If you can add water to a bag of concrete mix then you can make these panels. Read the detailed blog post instruction writeup that details how easy it is to make a raised garden bed that will last a lifetime.

Well Pump Dry Run Relay - I finally fixed it!
zhlédnutí 3,8KPřed 5 měsíci
Our shallow well jet pump continues to run and overheat when our well runs dry. In a previous video I tried to fix this by adding an additional thermostat on the pump motor. In this video I finally found a solution by integrating a dry run pump relay that detects a drop in current draw by the motor. The pump draws 4 amps when under load and pumping water. When the well runs dry the pump draws f...

It's been 5 years since I poured and cast my first concrete garden box panels and added them to the garden. I have made many different concrete forms or concrete molds for these garden boxes and experimented with several lightweight and alternative concrete blends from CSA concrete to aircrete and blends with perlite and vermiculite. See how these panels have survived the winter end the element...
Shallow Well Jet Pump Overheating Fix
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 11 měsíci
Our shallow well jet pump continues to run and overheat when our well runs dry during a drought. I try solving the issue of the melting PVC fittings with a hack by adding a dryer cycle thermostat to the electrical motor housing. The motor of this shallow well jet pump does not seem to have a working thermal switch for protection. The addition of a thermostat attached to the motor housing should...

Beautiful work!!!
Great work!
Wow! You are one of the smartest apes among all us apes!
I just got done designing some on fusion360 and I'm 3d printing a couple sets
Awesome system for the joints
I would love to see you substituting the lava rock for the rock and substituting the vermiculite for the sand, see if you get lighter weight and more durability
I wonder if using the double stacked raised beds inside a greenhouse? work? using the lava or vermiculite panels on bottom and the air crete panels on top...fill inside with old wood, limbs, leaves, etc. last remaining 10-12" with good compost for planting make it all longer lasting.
I watched a similar video of the forms like yours made but made it using air-crete. just as durable, only lighter in weight.
Darn, out of stock, I'm down for one. Btw, mold release wax works well for concrete also, I made a bunch of benches out of concrete for my church some time ago.
Wow, this is excellent work!
great vid and sketch up work
Why wouldn't you put the rafter hangers on the bottom of the lag bolt plate? Genuinely curious as I am also building a shed extension.
If I was using joist hangers I would have. Then notched the rafter at the bottom for the slope angle. But, I was using a different type of hanger that is also nailed to the top of the lag bolt plate. If I was doing it again, I'd use the joist hanger with a notch in the rafter method.
Very nice. Will you ever have the 48” ones available?
I really liked this greenhouse build so much I ordered the plans. Thank you
Nice to see she is so happy with your gift.❤❤
Appreciate all the information in these raised bed videos!
Great video! Quick question can I use 2x3? How can I modify this for a door awning? Or maybe this would be a good suggestion for a video on building a door awning! Thanks for your help!

Hi Can ! you are a great Builder !! love it :)
I absolutely LOVE this idea. Id love a model that was 12" tall but all I see are 8". Looking to do a big garden project in the near future but I want/need my beds to be 1ft tall.
Did you not put a membrane on top of the foundation blocks before framing the walls?
Wouldn't of been easier to just pour a slab 🤔
Can the moulds be stacked safely? Say 4high that still would be too low for our needs. Absolutely love the possibilities especially if can be stacked to achieve the height we need. Need more like 16in finished height. We have 2-8in boards stacker to achieve approximately 16in tall raised beds
This is great content, thank you very much! I built my first raised bed using concrete blocks. It was so simple, a rectangular shape, but proved to be useful by the years. So I have been thinking how can I mass produce it by molds, and by me. And I always got to a deadend, beacuse I wasn't thinking in a waterproof desing, my bad. 🙂 Well, I would buy your molds, even if they aren't measured in metrics, but sadly I am located in Hungary. So the only thing I could do to help you is an advice: upgrade your raised beds, to keep the water in them you need for july and august. And it is not that hard, you only need to dig in deeper, and cover the rest. 😉
Use perlite instead of foam or vermiculite. 😉
wow those are beautiful and will last forever. i love this fantastic idea
Any chance these would stack to make a 16" or 24" bed?
This video was very informative and narrated perfectly and completely!😊
When will these be in stock again?
when will they be back in stock?
I'd say this meets her approval, wish my wife would appreciate power tools like yours does.
Can you make one with a smaller taper. It looks like the blocks dont align flush and it would probably be hard to stack them for a higher bed.
Any smaller taper and you won't be able to get the casting out of the form.
Beautiful strip forms!
I would like to buy these, when will they be back in stock?
Should be late June. Updates will be posted here: manabouttools.com/product-category/abs-plastic-molds/
Very good. But why is no snail barrier included there? Snails are eating away all my plants these days... But i think it would be challenging to demold the undercuts...
I havnt made any forms but it looks like these completed concrete panels could be stacked to create higher garden beds? Have you done this and have some video?
Fantastic! Thanks so much. I've been trying to find a way to cover both ends of our screened in porch when it rains. This fits it to the t'. I've got some leftover metal roofing and they will fit nicely. Thanks for not having blaring music playing during instruction. Can't wait to download the instructions. Have a great day!
I wonder if lime wash coating would improve durability.
Leading in bolts lasts longest.
Any experience with quikrete or air/foamcrete (LCC or DLCC)? *only then notices the next video done 4 years ago...* Okay, thank you! :D
These molds are out of stock on the website. When will they be restocked?
updates will be posted here: manabouttools.com/product-category/abs-plastic-molds/
I think this is the first time I saw someone censor a cat's 3rd eye🤣🤣🤣...
That's a great greenhouse. I expect that the cost and effort dictate that you will add more shelving and perhaps a center table, all in order to grow more. If and when you do, I look forward to seeing what you did.
good work . . . I'll be looking within your site for more videos on what you did in the interior
Does anyone know how stable these would be to stack it double height?
I would like to see a stackable version, want my beds taller much taller than that one
seems to me this would be the perfect project to try the dry pour method. Yes , its well demonstrated its not as strong, but at the end of the day these are largely decorative and considerably stronger than they need to be already.. Could even lay some mesh or rebar down in it if you are that concerned. I also wonder if using a edging tool to round those inner corners would prevent the need to dress the concrete corners after it is cured.
Love your design, what would you figure cost wise to build?
Amazing. Can I ask how you do the animations?
