Once he flew a fighter jet parallel to ground maintaining a distance of less than a meter inflight. Sadly he passed away recently at age of 72. He was a real life Top Gun Maverick. 🛩🪂🫡

This was as good a landing as it gets for a quarter million pound Mach 3 aircraft. A delta wing lands at a very high angle of attack which is why the nose is hinged down on the Concorde. One of the challenges of very fast aircraft is that the tires bake at high Mach speeds. tdave1234 explains why the tires blew up on this landing. I remember when the XB-70 was new and it was quite a sensation.
