Hello🙂. I came across this video today!(Aug 22nd)Your tummy rumbling was cute! On Aug 22nd(whenever you read this) I was sitting in my mom’s office I was hungry, hoping my mom wouldn’t notice and my stomach growled so loudly,and she turned around in her chair and said is that your belly? Are you hungry? I said yes so a few seconds went by and my stomach growled loudly again I looked to see if she heard my stomach again. She did and she had a shocked look on her face,she was probably thinking, wow I didn’t know your stomach gets that loud when you’re hungry. My stomach does get pretty loud when I’m hungry🫣. My mom told me she doesn’t care hearing my belly☺️🧡.

Hello Sammie Dear Congratulations on completing the rug! You have the patience of a saint and I think you did amazingly well to complete that in just 3 days! 👏 Well done and it looks very good. I loved your baby blanket and was intrigued that you used a latch hook to do JP's dreads ... I feel another tutorial coming on ... "How to make JP's dreads with a latch hook"! 😉😉 Only joking! In answer to some rug questions: * My kits have always come with the cut wool colours all packaged separately (not mixed colours in one package). * I agree it can be difficult sometimes (depending on how many colours you're using) to work out which wool colours correspond with which colours painted on the canvas. With the good quality kits I've used there has been a swatch on an unused edge on the main canvas so you can hook one strand of each colour against a swatch to use for reference to see which colour wool corresponds with which bit of painted canvas. * Personal preference but I've always worked strictly in rows left to right bottom up and don't go off to do different coloured areas here and there, but I'm sure some people do - whatever you find easiest. I find doing it strictly in rows helps when I get to a colour as it's then obvious which hole the colour goes in. It also stops the potential for hooking a piece from above and potentially missing any holes, but that's just how I work, certainly not a criticism in any way. * I agree that fingers can get sore when you start as they rub on the rough canvas, but I found mine soon got used to it and then I didn't notice it. * I've never done a rug as a cushion, so am not sure what you do with the bare canvas edges or how you attach a back to it. With the rugs I've done (except the circular one, which had to be bound on the back), they've come with 2 selvedge edges and 2 raw edges. The raw edges can fray. The instructions in my kits have been to leave the selvedge edge as is until you've finished but to fold over the 2 raw edges backwards so that you're hooking the tufts through 2 thicknesses of canvas as you go along, obviously just in the overlap area, and that neatens off and hides the raw edge. The selvedge edge, which will not fray, is then folded back after the rug is complete and sewn to the back of the rug with thread (or wool if a more heavy duty rug). As your rug had a white background, I couldn't tell if there was any indication on your canvas as to where the rug ended and where the excess canvas began, but again I haven't done a rug cushion, so sorry not to be of any use on that point. * For anyone wondering, if you buy a good quality kit, I've found the canvas to be accurately printed without the need to use any chart to cross reference, BUT please do your research and double check this is absolutely the case before you buy. I find it easier doing a row at a time,as struggle to see where needs doing.Also find holding the wool up and moving the latch hook easier than moving the wool around the latch hook

Sammie i started making latchook rug making when i eas 11 or 12 in the early sixties n ive made some big rugs thru the years n the way we fid it on avprinted rug n put the hook thru first then put ur eool on the hook n it was much easier n less fiddly n u get so fsst at it cod it takes a long time we got them from readicut n each colour as in its own wee roll so u dnt have any sorting to do n we did it r Ow by row,hppe it gets eadoer for u Sammie cos its so enjoyable n rewarding,good luck good health n happiness n take care,enjoy❤❤❤❤

Love watching your crafting vlogs.This one took me back to the 70's when i made a rug with my late mum. I found the hook in her sewing box the other day. We used to do some much crafting together I miss those days. The baby blanket is beautiful.

That looks like a bit of a challenging hobby and it really appeals to me so I'm going to give it a go.🙂👍 The end result was quite nice, I think I'd have it as a wall hanging rather than a rug though. Thanks for showing this Sammie, you can rest your fingers now. 🙂❤❤🙋‍♀️

The ones I did I did using an embroidery hoop and moving it as I work along .

Wow, you have some patience doing the cutting out! That little rug will be nice. Back when I was a child it was a cotton reel with nails in the top, not a French knitting dolly. And Pom poms were made with 2 round bits of cardboard with a hole in the middle 😂
