A visit to the Welsh Highland Railway in 2004
Filmed over a 2 day period, I visited the WHR in the summer of 2004. In 2004 the WHR operated between Caernarfon and Rhys Ddu, approx 13 miles in length. The first part of the video was mainly on board footage from Rhys Ddu to Caernarfon. The following day the weather had turned and was very windy. From a small hill at Rhys Ddu I filmed the train as a continuous shot for nearly 10 minutes as it finally arrives at Rhys Ddu.

The Gin and Steam Weekend (Isle of Wight Railway)

Over the weekend of the 15th-16th June 2024 the Isle of Wight Steam Railway held a 'Gin and Steam' event. Various Gins and other spirits were available for tasting and purchasing. The railway operated austerity 'Waggoner' and its replicate Drewry Railcar no 2 ( the original operating on Ryde pier) as motive power. Some Southern Vectis buses were also on display.

Sangley station , a fictitious location is my N gauge layout. It's approx 1947, with LMS and LNER stock. This video is a brief introduction to the layout with some stills and train operation included. Further videos are likely latter in the year.
SOUTHERN VECTIS 'Classics'

Filmed on the Isle of Wight between 1999 and 2010 (with some later photos) shows a number of classic southern vectis buses. The oldest bus still in operation at the time of filming is 'The old lady" a Bristol K5G from 1939. Footage includes a bus rally in 2010, route 42 at the Needles and views from the IOW bus museum. This video was processed in DV format.
Austins Galore & The Michael Sedgewick Memorial Rally .

Filmed over a two day period in June 2000, the Isle of Wight railway held an Austins event with numerous vehicles attending. On the second day of the event the Michael Sedgewick Memorial rally stopped for a lunchbreak at the same event, some 70 plus cars attending. Filmed during two visits to the Isle of Wight Steam railway in 2011. Ajax is a Barclays 0-6-0 built in 1918. It was withdrawn from service on the IWR in 2014 and currently is a static display at the railway. This video was filmed in DV format.

In 2011 Beattie tank 30585 and E1 B473 (in southern livery) visited the Isle of Wight Railway. The Beattie tank was restricted to Havenstreet operations, while the E1 was used on rostered duty. This video was filmed in DV format.

Another excursion on Great Rail Journeys holiday entitled 'Lakes and Mountains of Switzerland and Italy'. The opening sequence shows some scenes on the ferry between Lucerne and Veznau. The main sequences are ascending to the summit of Rigi Kulm. The return journey from Rigi Kulm to Arth-Goldau is filmed from the cab of the train.
