New to channel love content, so u guys staying in Argentina?
Your whole arbitrage hypothesis is dependent upon the US dollar retaining its value vs other currencies. Also, if the discovery of oil was the definitive factor of a country becoming wealthy, Venezuela would be the wealthiest county in the world.
I think the most surprising bit of info in your wonderful video was hearing that Pat is 76 (or so!)! You guys look GREAT! I moved to Panama with my partner (of 26 years) just 2 years ago. We originally wanted to live in El Valle (de Anton), but found Altos del Maria made much more sense for us. From here, we can be in EV in minutes... but we're much closer to both Coronado (shopping) and the City (healthcare and airport). I really love the diversity of literally everything in Panama, as well the much more "realistic" attitude of the culture here. There's pro's and cons to literally any place on earth, which the two of you so obviously understand. To me, learning Spanish is a must here (to feel "at home")... and that takes a real investment of time. Panama goes big on building infrastructure, but doesn't plan it very well... or seem to consider maintaining any of it. I still love living here in spite of all that though, and totally plan on staying here for the long haul!
Thank you soooo much for this video!!! Fantastic information!!!!
Thank goodness for the wife just breaking it down in downright plain english!!!
Western media are the ones who are crazy not Mieli
How is the weather in Chitre or David? Are both similar to Boquete or are they warmer? Just wondering!
My wife, oldest daughter, and myself lived in the house next door to the left of the house at 1:21 in three rooms in 1969 while I was stationed in Panama.
RE Argentina, more specifics would be great: cost of a rental and what areas recommended, did you own/rent a car, etc.?
I avoid tourist traps like the black death. Nothing like capitalizing on the past, when there probably was much more personal freedom. Modern Americans like to be nostalgic about "hippies" but when it comes to the FREEDOM hippies enjoyed and wanted for society, modern Americans reject it--they would rather be in chains.
This is where Canada will find itself (pre Milei) if they don't kick Trudeau and his Leftist minions to the curb asap.
Great information, my father left there during the Perons, he is now 101 years old, lots of stories from him.
Two comments, some people, like me, enjoy their job, and they don't want to retire. Early retirement is the main cause of depression. US has spent 100 billion annually for two decades in Afghanistan. Current annual US social security deficit is .4 trillion mostly because of baby bombers, but we have enough resources to fund the social security system forever. It is just a matter of allocating resources a bit differently.
Excellent and thank you.
Nice job as always…one quick comment…I don’t think they have Uber in Boquete. I think you have to take the taxis which are very convenient.
As always, a solid presentation. Constructive criticism though…avoid shooting food unless you can make it look good…lol. Easier said than done, for sure. But keep up the good work. One final note, it is pronounced Chitre’…the accent is on the “e.”
The walkway in Montevideo is called La Rambla , not the malecon.
Hi . I'm going to Panama city for honeymoon for 5 days this summer. Which hotel would you recommend? Comfortable hotel with breakfast and easy transportation and restaurants nearby would be nice.
Dude, I call first dibs on your beautiful wife when you pass! She's so darn cute! Lol

The town is "not exactly the same" as back in '69. How about it's not AT ALL the same?
US State Department is often wrong but usually its on the over cautious side.
Ever heard of Mises? What Miliei is doing is Mises brand of Austrian economics. It is proven to work and its not new.
We moved to Mexico six years ago. Bought a house. Love it here. But, we are always interested in having citizenship/permanent residence in other places, just as a backup, since the world seems to be constantly changing, as usual. Panama is high on our list as an alternate, so we'll be visiting soon. Thanks for your informative videos.
We love Panama so good thinking. And...you can NEVER have too many backups. The world is pretty messed up.
Since this video was uploaded many things have changed. The NHR is ceased for most new applicants. There is a new government. New rules are being made and many revoked. The Golden Visa by property purchased has been finished. Most of the remaining methods are not suitable for retirees. D7 is the route to take. A couple needs 1.5X the minimum monthly wage of €€820 (in 2024) plus about €20k in the bank. Due to the rising rents, the government is considering increasing the income requirements. Things are in flux. Personally I wouldn’t buy an apartment. A villa has far less restrictions on short term rental. I think that if you can find a pre approved villa building project and have the money and about two years, you can build a villa for a very discounted price. I thought the legal fees quoted were very expensive
Thank you so much for the updates. That's one of the big downsides of videos. A year later or less, they're not correct anymore. Your input helps a lot.
I think it’s less expensive for 1 person
I will give away my marriot timeshare fr free. Already paid in full

I use a translator on my phone all day long at work. Argentina is my choice for retirement I still have a few years to go. Thank you for all the wonderful information.
Great video. I did not know Argentina economy was that bad and they charged the tourist triple the price. I am glad the new President is changing the economy for the better.
Great job! Might you have come across homes to rent, ideally with a private pool? Loved video on Bouquete , which would you now consider first Bouquete or Coronado? 😎
Hello, I'm a 60 retired and my wife is 42 years old. Would she be able to qualify for the visa by being married to me.
Thank you so much for actually showing us the different neighborhoods and house types. I see so many videos about this region where people are just talking about it with no local footage to back up what they are saying. Much appreciated! 😊
Thank you very much; very helpful video.
Thank you for lots of great information. One part I am no sue though, what type of income verification letter we, Canadians, need from Service Canada regarding CPP and OAS?
We are in Boquete this week, so beautiful! Jenny and I really enjoy your videos. We are Canadians looking for our retirement haven, it appears we found it! If you are in the area and there is a way to reach out to us, perhaps we can meet at Kotowa for coffee, where we are at the moment. Thanks, Wayne and Jenny
Hi guys , great video! Looks like they do have alot of sidewalks compared to Boquete ?
Bro, I'm new to Channel, I love your videos. I'm 56 and trying to squeeze 4 more months from a job I dislike and I'm done! I already started getting my feet wet 3 years ago. I have visited Honduras many times and I love it, El Salvador a couple of times, but don't like that they use American currency and don't care for Mexico. I'm looking for a country that is VERY inexpensive with good health care. I'm visiting Colombia and Nicaragua sometime this year. What is LESS expensive Colombia or Argentina?
Hello, thanks for the video, very enlightening. Isn't there another Playa Blanca past Colon? Do you know of any beach town areas between Coronado and PC? I enjoyed visiting Coranado, but would love to find something a little closer to PC to be closer to all the city has to offer. Thanks
The “background” music is unnecessarily LOUD‼️
You're borh a wealth of knowledge. Thank you for sharing your wonderful content.
Interesting and useful information, so thank you. My husband and I visited Argentina in 2005 and loved it ( 3 pesos to the usd ). After retiring at 57 in 2015, we stuffed whatever was left in a small storage place and skedaddled to travel. We have now been in South America for 2 years, going back and forth between Argentina, Brazil and Chile but we keep coming back to Argentina, currently in Mendoza. Between June 2022 and Sept 2023 we saw the “bluish” rate go from about 220 pesos to about 1000 pesos as prices pretty much followed that same curve so it never really affected us. We have been using Western Union but this time around, we use credit cards for most purchases, maybe because we are worn out from carrying piles of 1000 peso bills 🥴. Yes, like in many other countries, we have been gringo’ed on certain purchases and the funny bit is that they know that we know and we just look at each other to see who will blink first. If it’s a large amount, we just walk away but sometimes I figure they probably need it more than me ( not saying this arrogantly, times are tough ). Up until the election last year, we would ask Uber drivers what they thought of the upcoming election and most were nervous and cautiously hopeful, in the “we can’t keep going like this anyways and it’s worth a shot”. Now, after more than 5 months, people are starting to see that real changes are happening and that Milei is sticking to his promises, as he has said from the beginning that it wasn’t going to be quick nor easy but necessary. It feels like he is turning over mattresses and all the cockroaches are running out 😳I keep my fingers crossed because Argentina deserves better. On the other hand, Argentina may not always be the great deal that it’s been for foreigners but I can live with that.
I have had to do with Argentina for more than 40 years. The current situation makes me think of the beginning of the Menem years (1990's). Meaning you can't predict what will happen. Information is mostly ideologically biased. Middle class people will tell you one story, lower class people will tell you another and upper class people always tell the same story (Argentina would be a great power if it wasn't for the lazy workers). I would take information month by month and not look any further for the next 2,5 to 3 years. (Argentina is a great country with great people, I love them and I wish them the very, very best!))
Hello and greetings from Nueva Gorgona. When you quite your life in one country and move to another country. What is really changing? It’s the language! - Sorry my French. - For most of us, the shit is the same. - A friend of mine, American, is sending me a message every 2-3 months. “I am leaving!” Europe, South America, back to Panama…. Then I get a message: Can we meet in Panama City? “Wait! Aren’t you anymore in Argentina?” - Response: No. I’m in Panama again. - No idea. He comes back to Panama again and again and again. But he isn’t the only one I know. A European guy does the same. And this guy did visit 21 different countries after the pandemic. “Hey. Can we meet in Panama City….”
Reining in government spending and cutting off the money printing is not radical. It is common sense. Every government in the world could do it, but they don't do it, and we know why.
We were in Buenos Aires for 2 wks in March and as tourist, we felt we didn’t get those great deals we thought we’d get before we left Canada. Private car tour', Tango Show and restaurants costs more than what a local would pay..You can’t do much about it if they know you’re a foreigner.
Makes sense. You appear to have done (understandably) mainly tourist things. One good way, at least in restaurants is try to speak enough Spanish to get to the menu. Then the prices will be the prices. You wouldn't need much. Walking in with 2 fingers up as someone walks over to seat you, and saying "Dos". Then as soon as you're seated ask for the menu. "El menú, por favor. Gracias." From then on...the prices should be better unless you're in a high tourist area or restaurant. At least that's what we do in most Spanish countries and it's fine.
The word ""Cuenta" does not have 3 syllables. It has 2 syllables. And is pronounced as KWEHN-tah.
Interesting. I wonder if that's a thing from where you learn Spanish. Like Quebec french being different than Paris french. We got most of our earlier pronounciations from the Pimsleur audio tapes. They're Spain-Spanish. On those it's clearly Coo.. en...tah. But, said really fast.
GIVE ME MY FREE LUNCH, suckers! Yeah. That will “work” until it doesn’t.
Great info on Argentina. I was born and raised in Buenos Aires and it’s an option of me relocating… but thank y’all so much for this segment. Y’all do a great job, you both look great and very helpful! Retired from TV News Journalism, widowed so ready for changes.
