Here’s a short video comparing my trusty old PCM-80 to my Line6 HX Effects. My biggest fear is that the PCM stops working and I’m not able to fix it. Hii. I’m currently redesigning my live board to be used in mono, stereo or W/D/W. It involves using a small RJM mixer to add a dry path for my Eventide H90. A new TC SCF for chorus. And the Boss SDE-3000P for delays. Stay tuned
im not a fan of the Rockman but the demo sound good
One of my favorite albums of all time is Hysteria with Def Leppard. All guitars in that album was recorded with the X100.😎😎

always great tone..... fellow rack guy here wanting to downsize... siganlwise, do you go... guitar into pedal board into trinity 100, then fx loop into line6 and direct signal with cab emulator stereo into recording.... while your mic'd cab is running dry running center??? or how do you split the signal to line6 stereo AND micd cab? thanks for your time....
@@TheScottWhyte I go into the studio pedal board before my amp switcher. Then into the Trinity 100. It feeds my Marshall 4x12 in my ISO room. The cab is mic’d using a SM-57 and a Royer R-121. API mic preamps on my console. I feed the volume pedal from the aux send on the console. And then into the HX FX for stereo fx post mic’s, preamps and volume pedal. Then I record the stereo out of the HX FX into Pro Tools using my UAD Apollo interfaces. No speaker simulation this time. But I can easily switch from my mic setup to my Two Note CAB M+ if I like too.
@@KanlydNorge thanks for the explanation...such great fat tone!!! so at the end of the day, you are reacording or laying down a dry center ch, and left and right wet ? correct? very cool having the aux send into a vol control!!! rad, so when you turn down the volume control, it effect the dry and wet recorded tone, correct? it kills or gives life to the entire signal? thanks agian for your time
@@TheScottWhyte since the HX FX does not have analog dry path the W/D/W way isn’t possible. You will get phase issues. The Volume pedal and the HX is simply in series between my console and the recording interface. I can of course record the mic’s dry at the same time and add fx to that later if I like. But most of the time I record like I did in the video.
Suhr makes some nice guitars, but those headstocks are hideous!

Great song! LOVE IT! And of course the A-N-A-L-O-G mix sounds great. You can hear everything. The mix has a 3d quality to it. You can hear the reverb tails and the open width of the mix. I have a summing mixer (rack-mount) Rupert Neve 5057 Orbit and haven't look back since. It gives my mixes the same high quality full, open-ness, and clarity I hear in this mix. Thanks again for sharing.

can you give us more infos on your rack tones for Helix? there's absolutely nothing in the description. How many blocks? which kind of block styles,...? Not talking about Parameters, just pure content.
@@AlexisGitarre the preset has all the blocks you need to make the complete rack tones. One block for chorus, one for Detune, one for reverb and two blocks for delays. Circular and Pan Delays. It works with every version of Helix fra native to HX FX.
how do you think does the Helix hold up to the PCM? I got an good offer for a PCM but already have the Helix... not sure if i should buy the pcm 80 and put it in the FX loop of Helix.
@@AlexisGitarre well after I made the preset for Helix I sold my PCM-80. So in other words no need for you to get one
Except the tri chorus of course, i much prefer the old rack sound with only the mpx g2.
Have you tried your Line6 with the IR-x via 4cm? I have some slight loss of tone (actually more the direct "feel") when I use it with my HX Stomp. Thx ;-)

Hei. Jeg har Amp1 som min goto live Amp på små scener. Strever med å vende meg til In-ears, så derfor liker jeg Amp1 med en 1x12 kasse best

Channel 2 is a nice overdrive but let's face facts. It sounds NOTHING like a Plexi. You might think so, unless you've PLAYED a real Plexi. Then you'd KNOW.
Well I know lol.. look closer.. there’s a Plexi in the background in the video. I was referring the Mesa user manual
Hi- did you experience any problems with hiss/ noise on this unit? I bought one on the used market (MPX G2 and R1), and the hiss is basically so loud as to make it unusable. Thanks
Nope no problems with the ones I’ve had.

VERY nice...You make some terrific sounds here? But, the sound here is the sound of the processors →through a Super Champ. I had one right when Fender released them and it didn't sound like any Fender that I'd heard or owned. It had a narrow and common voice, the mid boost/distortion was unusable for me and, when boosted, the reverb was taken out of the signal. I got rid of it in about month. I was really caught off guard when they somehow began being talked about because they'd seemed to have entirely vanished from anywhere I was. I also had a Rivera Concert that I gave away because it was so useless to me. I shouldvsay that I do know others who really liked theirs. And I had a Rivera Champ II that it was even being on the market was startling (really horrid that anyone would even chance trying to sell it). In my experience, The Super Champ/Rivera era wasn't Fender at all; it was the first step way away from Fender and not the last one from. Hey...you've got some really nice things happening in this video...! ✨🌈👋🥴👍✨
Thanks!! The concert 2 has an fx loop so the delays etc are after gain. The amp distortion sounds pretty good I think if you adjust it correctly.. it’s basically like an old Mesa/Boogie without the graphic EQ.
@@KanlydNorge Never could make Rivera era work for me and was greatly disappointed every time. You sound great, but it's not the amp that's doing it. The amp is doing the signal from your great effects boxes. Again →you sound great! ✨🌈👋🥴👍✨
@@Da_Xman Well since I’m using the amp gain channel the amp does the heavy lifting in my mind.. the fx are just the icing on the cake IMO.. same with any amp really.
The sounds you achieved are exactly what I hope to achieve soon. I've watched almost all the IR-X demonstrations, but the tones you achieve here with your Stratocaster sound great, from the clean ones to the high-gain ones. Just out of curiosity, do you have anything else recorded to hear a bit more of those glorious tones? Thank you for your demonstration

Hii Kim.. the ToneX or the IR-X I use in 4 cable method with the HX FX. They are patched in using the loop
