have a problem with the driver's side mirror when I open the car the mirror opens completely

Couldn’t have done this job without this demo. It’s a lot tighter than it appears to get everything back in and very fiddly.

I used a really small screw driver to snap out, just follow around the holding base start near the snaps

Followed the video instructions with help from a GM tech. The repair did not fix the problem. Disassembled and reassembled several times the confirm the procedure was followed correctly. Before the repair you could hear the motor running but after replacing the broken gear your could just hear a hum like the gear was jammed preventing the motor from turning. Any thoughts about another problem with the mirror? Thanks

this is so frustrating that they dont add metal gears to begin with i guess the companies are so money hungry that if they did than there will alot less replacing of power folding mirrors.

My mirrors sometimes fold and other times don't fold . First specially when i went to car washing . It returns to fold . After a while don't . I don't know what is the cause and how to fix it . Specially now it is completely stopped to fold even when i was notcing it was folding after car wash . Something related to strong water of car washers . What could i do about it if there is somthinh to do please?

Thanks for this video. I just fixed my wife’s car. Hardest part was removing the mirror (and remembering where all the screws went back). Most complicated, but cheap fix ever. Just as a tip, I used a small suction cup to remove the mirror. Was scared of breaking it as it took a lot of force but it came off. Also interesting to find out that the painted part on the outside of the mirror can clip off. For those that are not up to pulling the whole mechanism apart, this means that you could replace with another mirror and simply change over the cover if not matching the car.

The passenger side mirror on my 2010 Hyundai YF i45 Elite Sedan will only fold in a short way and then stops. Maybe its a faulty gear as in this video. Has anyone replaced the mirror gear in a i45 model ? Where would I purchase the gear for a i45 from ? Thanks for the video.

I like how you proceed methodically through this, not getting frustrated, just trying things until it works. That's how I fix things, too. Question: if the mirror gets hit and swivels on the rotator, can it be loosened and put back by taking it off the door?

MY FOLDING MIRRORS WONT CLOSE AT THE SAME TIME THERE IS 1 SEC OF DELAY one mirror closes in 1 sec and 2nd one take about 1.5 sec how can i synchronize them
