I can see how the tightlining technique works for most people. Unfortunately I have such sensitive eyes, I cannot do this. I went to a Laura Mercier makeover, and the makeup artist was shocked at how much my eyes were watering and wouldn't stop watering when she did this on my waterline. She said she had never seen anyone's eyes respond this way. Not for me, but I have almond-shaped but big eyes, so I just do my liner on the upper lashline with a thicker line toward the outer lashes. Works for me, lol!

So happy to see this video, Cat! I've been doing all 3 of the tips for awhile now and it has made such a difference, I agree. (I'm 68). I call my face - with all the wrinkles and lines and age spots - "the map of my life". I've realized that foundation doesn't have to completely be opaque to look nice and honestly, I kind of like some of my 'real skin' to show through. Also agree that we don't need a ton of concealer - I've found that just a little really does look better (and lasts longer too). My latest has been using a lip stain with a bit of tinted gloss or balm - I discovered that the Wonderskin stain in the shade XOXO (one of the lighter ones) gives my lips a perfect blush of color and the combo really does last all day. You can experiment with that stain and achieve different depths of color, depending on how quickly you wipe it off, but it is so quick and easy!

Wow, I remember in the 80’s I used to use the same red maybelline eyeliner and used a lighter on it. Oh those were the days.

Great tips Cat, but according to my Optometrist, tight lining is so dangerous for the Health of our eyes. It causes dry eye syndrome and clogs the oil glands as well as causing inflammation. Since I seen Rose Marie showing how and where to apply Bronzer and Blush, it’s for sure been a game changer on my 63 yr. More mature skin. Great tips! Thank you.

I use a short bristle straight eye brush to dab gel liner at the base of my lashes. Best black gel liner I've found is from Trixie Cosmetics Hotline Gel Eyeliner in Black. Who else could perfect a liner better than a drag queen? It doesn't budge at all. Some good tips, thanks.

I've had that ELF blush in my kit for years in that exact shade. It is fabulous and super affordable. I love this natural, healthy look. I've found that most foundations just make my skin look worse so I've been using skin tints like the Maybelline one you love and sometimes, just the Laura Geller powder foundation on very hydrated skin. Ever since you showed the new way to do bronzer, I've been doing it that way with great results! Thank you, Cat! ~Cynthia

Hi Cat…I LOVE these tips. I now apply blush on the apples of my cheeks and what a difference it makes. I like the idea of applying skin tint/foundation only where you need it and just feathering the rest out. The glass lip is something I’m going to try now. I don’t wear a lot of makeup but I like just enough to look polished and feel good. I love that your new tattoo represents and honours your heritage and your parents. I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo of a branch with cherry blossoms to honour my parents, my 3 kids and my granddaughter. Take good care Cat. 😊🇨🇦💐

Oh my gosh, Cat!! The Maybelline eyeliner and the lighter! Yes, I did that, too!! And I wore my eyeliner in the upper and lower waterline my entire junior and senior year! 😂 now I’ll do the upper water line only, but not always. I’ve also stopped wearing mascara on my lower eye lashes. I love doing my bronzer and blush using your technique.

Well the makeup look was beautiful. I like your idea. I would be concerned in the area you didn’t use foundation do you have a line showing where makeup isn’t there? Also instead of foundation can this be done with a concealer? I like your makeup trips very much. I, too, have melasma in the same area you applied foundation. Thank you for doing this.❤

Beautiful finished look Cat. I never use full coverage foundation anymore, even medium coverage is too much. I agree that it just accentuates lines, wrinkles and texture. I sheer mine out with a damp sponge or foundation brush. Skin tints are my current fave. Love the glass lip tip! I usually use a lip liner or Maybelline's lip crayon that closely matches my natural lip color, then fill in with a tinted lip oil or lip balm. 💋

I noticed that when i used Toner and moisturizer under it, my foundation wouldn't set and it transferred easily. However, on my neck, it stayed put and didn't transfer at all! Even my white collar shirt had no makeup stains which never happens. So I'm not sure what to do... maybe I'll have to wear it without any skincare.

Thank you so much for your reply Cat ! I was interested in the BFF All Day Foundation. I have normal / combo skin that is prone to shininess throughout the day … The last thing I want is a foundation that creates more shine and glow - however I don’t want a chalky mask either . This product offers many skin loving ingredients as well. I’ve tried the Trinny London shadow pots and really liked them . They’re very creamy (unlike Merit )and last all day . I’m also curious to try the new anti aging /firming serums . I saw that Trinny London is sold at Saks Fifth Avenue - but the NYC location ONLY . I’d love to be able to go in-store to see and sample all the products , but I live in VA (it’s a pity my local Saks doesn’t carry TL ) . So, if your interest is piqued , it would be wonderful if you could look into this innovative brand and let us know what you think .

My Natasha Denona shadows are among my favorites. At this point I want eyeshadow that goes lasts all day looking good. ND shadows do that for me. I never ever use all the shades in a larger palette (almost always too many dark shades) but I often appreciate the range of shades I get. One and done eyeshadow looks don’t work for me.

Hi Cat, I always enjoy your channel and the profound honesty you share on here . Such a good video today and I so appreciate it. Well my friend, as you know I have a YT channel ( Beauty Over 70 With Lea ) I’m 76 and I feel like I’m aging as best I can. As a retired esthetician/ MUA I have had access to almost every this and that in my career years and today as well but allow me to say… I have never had any Botox , no fillers or anything on my face at all. I’m a dye hard skincare person and I believe that if we properly clean our skin and exfoliate the dead skin so the serums, and moisturizer we use will penetrate… along with proper diet, exercise and stress. Cat, that’s my opinion on my 76 year old aging body…💕🤗 Lea
