What the screw adjustment that it has 5 positions and an N?

I picked up one for $25 a couple weeks ago and even though I have over 200 bikes in my collection ( and no Walmart crap), its in my top 10. Making it electric is a dumb idea though, really dumb. There is no practical way to turn this into an e-bike and retain the original drivetrain. . Shimano did not make this system for Trek. The components they supplied were called " Shimano Coasting System"' You can also get a Raleigh and a Giant with this same drivetrain, they just do not look as attractive and cohesive as the Trek Lime. BTW, there are literally no parts available for these bikes to speak of save for tires, chain and other parts that do not involve the drivetrain.You may be able to get parts that will make a non-functioning one work but they will not look like the original parts. If buying a used one, make sure the corrosion on the frame isn't too bad and also make sure its shifting into and out of all gears. Sometimes the cable that operated the bell crank needs adjustment and sometimes the computer has died. Buyer beware !

I've ridden one. It is so easy to pedal. I didn't look inside the hubs. But, I think it could be an electric drivetrain. Pedaling is effortless. You'll never sweat. Ideal cruiser bike.

Thanks for posting this excellent two-part video. A really important part of what you've included is the way to do the final adjustment on the outer race, prior to locking down firmly with the outer keyed washer and outer keeper nut. This step is almost always overlooked in other instructional videos that are posted. Auto mechanics know the technique you'd clearly explained but why this step is missing for bicycle crank bearings/races is hard to work out, particularly given its importance. It requires a bit of patience but it's not difficult and it is essential for smooth running without immediate, excessive wear and unecessary drag. The other bits that made this particular video useful was the closeup shots you'd taken the time to show. Thanks again, well done all the way round. Brilliant.

I have a classic Schwinn exercise bike and I think it is the same as this bike so, this should be very helpful for me to pack or replace the bearings.

This video was helpful. I disassembled my bottom bracket bc it was clunking under a load. I found that there was almost no grease on the ball bearings. I cleaned the bearings, put on new grease, and put it back together. Problem solved. Thanks for posting

You absolute star. Bought a second hand bike, it was new less than 3 years ago. And it had this style of crank, and everything else on it is non standard too. Incredibly infuriating, can't find replacement parts.

Very helpful tutorial. This is what the internet should be! In my case, its my stationary bike that needs repair. So this means no more excuses to avoid exercise specially during this pandemic situation.

You cant just dox people like that, showing addresses/giving step by step directions even of important public figures. At least when its obviously giving the targets dox out when 1 you know he/she wouldn't approve of you distributing it and 2 you are clearly only distributing it in hopes others will harass or harm the man and or his innocent family members like you are seen doin in the video. And one more thing the grease they usually put on there is so thin that it's easy to collect dirt but the grease I used is good for 500 degrees fahrenheit and I don't have very much dirt on my bearings because I loaded my bearings with grease

Here's one thing I know from taking apart my crank system yep I to have an american one piece crank and I used red lithium Greece which is used in bearings in GM vehicles and I had to tighten the bearing housing because they made a clicking sound when I tightened everything up it stopped clicking

Hi thanks! You tighteneded this two time. Is that a something you do for to stay on better? I tried this before this vid but when I ride the bike it it got loose. I may have put some parts wrong but it went smooth like yours. Also the bearing that is locked in a ring like this could get stuck and hard to spin. I like when you just put in without the locking-ring. It takes more number of the bearings though. I did changed from locking-ring to loose bearings and it was so much better. But in this case it is hard to get the bearings stuck in the right place when you put it together.
