Tech is cool but doesnt make you a better hunter. I use a red dot with zero magnification. Get closer to deer and practice often.

No, I tried it out on a bullpup shotgun, but was only at about 15yds. I will say it is clear at that point, held up to recoil on shotgun, but that's all I got on it so far. Looks pretty clear in the backyard, but I haven't tried on a rifle yet.

Q tip is a messy process. Nothing works better than a “slightly over size” flannel cloth on the end of a pull through. Same exercise but a more effective and no oil spilling process.

Which Omega Sight was used? The original, the II or the III? Were you shooting using a vise? Did you try different bolts and broadheads?

I'm hanging around the State of Connecticut this year focusing on a variety of public and private land deer hunts. Hoping to save some gas and toll money, but still spend a lot of time in the woods! Hi Jason, managed to watch this one again, and it gives me pause for sure! I've just upgraded to a Wicked Ridge M-370, and I'm sticking with the factory HAWKE scope. Also upgraded the Barnett Raptor FX to a better quality KI scope. I've often been tempted to try the ATV night vision scopes but they too are too expensive. Are you still on Rumble? I know you can't revise the CZcams channel because it was in Greg's name. All the best!

Thanks for your honest review young man, as you talked me out of buying something I didn't need. If I would have bought one, I'd probably be sleeping on the couch as my wife would say "don't you have enough hunting stuff already?" I think I'll save my pennies and buy a new Raven R10. At least that will be worth sleeping on the couch or in my chevy truck lol

Omg these are the two pellets i am running. The Stoegers are a bit better in accuracy.. only because the gamo’s .. some of the skirts are deformed. Oddly i dont have to touch my elevation knob when running the rockets and then Stoegers. Im curious if they actually weigh 10.2 gr.

Okay I'm only 3 minutes and but I have to say something here, try to avoid using oils . occasionally I will REM oil but only on the breach seal., Reason why is you will get dieseling on multiple shots afterwards and dieseling is very bad for your air rifle and could cause damage to your seals. Silicone is all you needl, liquid or spray doesn't matter but you silicone in the barrel. Personally, to clean mine all I do is shoot it with canned air from the breach and then shoot a cleaning pellet through it, that's it that's all you need. The Q-tip idea is fine, a dry Q-tip run-through will help get out excess silicone, oils and dirt. A regular Q-tip will work great on a .177 and a jumbo Q-tip will work okay on a .22. Actually shoot the Q-tips through it, there's no need to Ram through, which brings me to the next point. Most important, do not ever run a metal rod down into your air rifle, an air rifle barrel is not a solid barrel all the way through, it's a sleeve. It's very easy to scratch, you will destroy your air rifle. If you must Jam something down through there just use plastic rod do not use a metal rod. I personally wouldn't put either down the bottom of my air rifle, shooting a Q-tip or cleaning pellet through it is all you need.

How do you get the lead out of the barrel that builds up. I know oil won't get it out.

Hello, just wanted you to know I contacted the Omega company about the issue you experienced, and here is what they replied with: Craig, Thanks for your email. The Omega II does hold its settings but the spring system in the mount which act as shock absorbers can wear out with constant impact due to consistent recoil or mishandling over time. With that said, we redesigned the Omega III mounting assembly and eliminated that issue completely. The Omega III also has better features than the Omega II including adjustable mil dots, instant video playback, dimmable, and true distance calculation. A great value for these added features! Thank you.

Hi, Sorry you had that issue with the sight. Was that the Omega II, or Omega III sight you used? Maybe that issue was fixed on the Omega III if you used the Omega II? I talked personally to other guys who used the Omega II and they didn't have that issue. Bummer it happened to you. Thanks for an honest review. :)

RIP Greg,, too bad you had to leave so soon, I never did get a chance to show you that new bow of mine.

I only knew Greg through the internet, we were friends for a couple years on Facebook and Telegram. Even though I'm from Ohio USA we had similar views on things. We chatted fairly often, sometimes daily but recently our chats became more infrequent. We last chatted November 5th, after his surgery and he was recovering and I saw the extent of the incisions , he hadn't learned of the cancer on that day I guess as although he thought it might be malignant, he hadn't been told yet I think. I tried to give him some recovery time and not bother him with our chats as I felt he just didn't need to hear or worry about some of the world news content we usually discussed while he was recovering. After noticing today he hadn't been online since November 22nd, I feared the worst, and came here. I'm so sorry you have to feel the loss of YOUR friend. He seemed once of a kind and I'm quite sure he was exactly that. Greg was a good man and I always enjoyed our chats. I will miss him, but I'm thankful to have known him the short time I did. I definitely learned a lot from him during our talks. I wish you positive energy, and strength in managing your loss. So sorry you lost him. Rest Peacefully my friend, Godspeed. I put corn, salt block, etc., close to the woodline so the bucks feel safer and come out before dark. With your bait in the middle of an opening, it can keep your deer in the wooded cover until the safety of the darkness. Please keep sharing the fun!
