Lots of folks don't realize the Drummer is the one an only Tommy Aldridge of Ozzy Osborne and Whitesnake fame. He was in BOA before joining the bands that would make him even more famous.

The broad singing looks like '80s comedienne Elayne Boosler. The big diff - I never sprouted watching Elayne and I sure did watching Ruby Starr.

"HELL YES" I am "VERY GLAD" to say that I myself had the privilege of seeing Black Oak Arkansas back in the mid to late 80's, and they were "DAMN GOOD"!!! And as far as I'm concerned, people who diss on bands like this either weren't there when this kind of music was the "IN THING", or if they were, but now look down on them, and make negative, disrespectful comments!!! Then you were never "A REAL FAN" of these bands, and have "NEVER BEEN SOMEONE WHO APPRECIATE'S THE VERY HARD WORK IT TAKES TO HONE YOUR CRAFT AS A MUSICIAN, AND HOW MUCH MORE IT TAKES WITH HARD WORK AND DEDICATION TO GET SIGNED ON A MAJOR LABEL, AND KEEP PUTTING OUT MUSIC THAT WILL KEEP YOU ON THE MAIN STAGE AS A HEADLINER, OR EVEN AN OPENING ACT"!!! Believe me people, "ROCK AND ROLL IS A VICIOUS GAME AS APRIL WINE SAID IT IN ONE OF THEIR SONGS YEARS AGO"!!! 🤘👹🤘✌️

I sat on the first row at a Black Oak concert in a small club and stared at Ruby's red panties for 2 hours. Three nights later I saw Black Oak open for Grand Funk. Great times.

I use to live in Memphis TN and my neighbor invited me to a bar in midtown and a band was playing from a band called BOA. There was a guy onstage fronting the band and I never seen the guy or heard the music before, but watching him reminded me of David Lee Roth, same mannerisms, everything. After the show he sat at our table and my neighbor tells me his name is Jim Dandy. he was a cool and funny dude , he's kinda wild too. This was in 2000 or 2001.

Saw them back in 1975, they are a great rocking southern band. Go Jim Dandy Goooo. david lee roth stole his whole style.

I really liked the BOA energy. They would bust up their guitars and drums at the end of each concert. Beautiful Les Pauls shattered on stage. Years later, they no longer destroyed the guitars. Jim Dandy dedicated a song to Ruby Star

And there is Tommy Aldridge 50yrs ago, he is still playing the drums and has been with Whitesnake for better than 10yrs now.

I will never not listen to black oak Arkansas. Sounds like freedom every time
