Condensed Listing Review - 1963 Lincoln Continental Convertible - BAT Listing
I truly wish you'd of shown the switches being used/working. IDK what I'm actually looking at otherwise. Really nice looking though.
Useless
I'd like it...
Hi. I'm hope that you can help me source a part. I have a 69 Contential coupe and am trying to find a rebuilt neutral safety switch (or have someone rebuilt mine). I've tried Lincoln Land and a few other places with no luck. Thank you
I am looking for a 68 convertible do you ever run across them
One of the most beautiful cars ever built. Why can’t Ford build this car again..? Bring back the Lincoln Continental
Seems like it would bend easily in the middle with the doors open. Gotta be some serious structure in there
Thanks for the comment. Def these cars are made very well. Unibody started in '58 for Lincoln. I've cut a few of these up (helping a friend) and I can attest they are WELL made. No flexing on a 2 post lift!
For all my carbureted cars, I use non-ethanol gas and that eliminates any vapor lock problem. It’s just hard to find the right gas.
Well stated. I should have reinforced this. I highly recommend non ethanol fuel. A buddy of mine, who is a Cadillac guy, has really reinforced this to me over the years. From what I understand the ethanol fuel really wreaks havoc on seals etc. as well.
Another great review on recent sales! Thank you for taking the time to create these videos. I for one really enjoy them! Lincolns on da rise!
Thanks. So much. You know it. I appreciate the support. 🚀
Hello, I have a Lincoln continental, I live in Spain, very difficult to have information about the car. Thanks for your channel
Wow thanks for commenting. Really appreciate it. 🇪🇸

This 62' looks sooo much better customized; IMHO! Thanks for taking the time to do the review! Keep 'em coming!
TY for the support and comment. No doubt!!

Is John Cashman really out of retirement? I talked to him around the time he retired. I need him. Is he available?
Yes, he sure is. He has the same cell phone number he use to have. He is currently on a trip across the US!
Enjoyed this
TY so much.
Good show ODB
TY so much Robert
Check this out...
👍🏽
Excellent representation by the BaT seller, very nice photos and thorough description.
TY very much!
@@lincolnaddict your video is nice too but I meant the car dealer presenting the listing 😊
Good review. Agree 100% with your assessment. I think this should come in around $75k-$80k.
Agreed. I forgot to give my feedback. I was going to say it should definitely be north of $60k. The wheels, interior and various other items are not cheap and added to the standard value of a Lincoln, it def brings the price up.. especially for someone not looking for an all stock car. TY for the feedback.
If I were ever to sell one of my Lincoln Continentals, I would likely float it out on social media, and then go the BAT route!
That is not a bad take. Back in 2019 I had tremendous success via social media listing/posts. From there it seemed like I talked to more tire kickers and dreamers. I get people like to talk but I just could not dedicate time to chat it up with everyone that "one day wanted a Lincoln." But surely posting it say on Marketplace is not a bad option.
Please let me represent you! I am the selling dealer for this example which I have on consignment!
Really nice car
Thanks for the support!!!!
Is the solenoid mounted separately from the starter like this on a 1973 mark iv?
Yes, in the thumbnail image you will see the old blue solenoid which is mounted on the passenger front apron.
The slab Lincolns are the only ones for me, especially the ragtops. Aren't prices just continually going up?
Yes, they are but you can still find some deals. Bring A Trailer is now the place to go to buy.
Staying on the rise!
yes sir. TY
Legit
TY!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
TY
Not it

Awesome lincoln continental
Thank you
The car on the tarmac was SilverMink 1964 LC convertible. I spoke with Clayton Townsend from the production company about letting them paint my white 1964 convertible SilverMink and the repainting it back white after the movie. I live in Dallas and when the production company was looking for the car for LBJ, they saw mine parked in front of the hotel they were staying in. They offered me $250.00 to use the car and they pay for the painting. I refused. They offered me $50.00 dollars per day to use the car in background shots. I would have to deliver the car to them every morning at 7:00 am and pick it up at 6:00 every evening. I refused. That’s my JFK filming story. .
Hey, thank you so so much. Maybe you were the one that commented before as well? I kept thinking it was a Facebook comment but maybe it was a CZcams comment… I certainly appreciate you chiming in and I want to get the story correct thank you for sharing your story.
Probably Facebook. I just started using u-tube last year. I love your videos. Thank you so much.
No, thank you!!!
The car on the tarmac was the powder blue (or silver mink, either way it was a light blue) '64 convertible which LBJ was sitting in during the motorcade. There is video footage of it racing towards Parkland and pics of it close to the emergency entrance of Parkland. There is also well known video footage showing a bouquet of flowers lying on the back seat of this car (black interior) which was given to Lady Bird Johnson. After LBJ left Parkland for Love Field, Jackie followed soon after with JFK's casket and Jackie's press secretary Pam Turnure, personal secretary Mary Gallagher, JFK's secretary Evelyn Lincoln, LBJ's secretary Liz Carpenter and another WH staff member all crammed into this car and rushed to Love Field and reached just in time as the casket was being offloaded from the Ambulance and carried up the stairs into AF1. In that pic showing the car on the tarmac, you can see part of Mary Gallagher standing right behind Jackie. This car was probably 'borrowed' from a local LM dealership by the secret service for the Dallas motorcade which is what they usually did when they needed convertibles for such events.
Hey, thank you so much. I know you chime in on other videos and I really appreciate the information… I’ve read a lot about the assassination but some of these details I’ve never necessarily looked into… Like I said, I want to get the story correct and it looks like the person that commented to the continental comments back in 99 was incorrect… Thanks again to you and the other individual above that chimed in.
I'll be watching this one closely. It would be so great to be able to own this piece of history!
TY and I agree. I bring up what I covered on the podcast in the past... this may not have been the car on the tarmac in the photo of JFK's coffin being loaded onto Air Force One.. but it is still an amazing piece of history.
@@lincolnaddictyou might know this one? czcams.com/video/A_5DlIyO1R4/video.htmlsi=OZpm8gr4KeB-b-ab
Beautiful car
Agreed! Such a nice '65
Are you suggesting that the Continental convertible in the casket photo is the same ad the LBJ owned convertible? If so, you are misinformed. That car was obtained from a local LM dealership for the motorcade, then returned at the end of the day. That Lincoln was silver with black interior, and is seen in several motorcade
I've had 1 other person tell me this. Well the source of that laid out the wrong info then... there was a story in a previous Continental Comments issues were someone restoring the LBJ Lincoln stated it was the same car. See page 16 here. I'm not disputing what your saying just telling you where the info came from: octopup.org/img/car/lincoln/info/Lincoln--LCOC-Magazine-Clippings--1960s-Lincolns.pdf
Is it needed for a 63?
No, '63 is a different setup.
Kept loosing the same hub cap all the time then i sprayed painted the inside of the cap with fluorescent paint so i could find them easier in the woods of the road way
lol WOW! I bet it was annoying.
Nice car! Whatever you do. DO NOT bring it to Rick house of lincoln in Houston TX. He never finishes anything and will keep charging you and feeding you Bullshit.
Thanks for the info!!!
That's my car :) Thanks for the review. My plan is to put some more $$$ into it.
So awesome. TY for the support and the shirt order Jim. Its a nice one!!!
Looks to be in phenomenal shape for a "project"!
Agreed. The owner chimed in and said the "project" in the title should not have been added.
Thanks for the detailed video. I owned a 1964 convert. White over white with red leather. It was always an attention getter. Loved the car. I owned it for about 10 years in the 90’s. Went to 500SL FOR 20 YEARS. Miss the beautiful Lincoln. Your videos let me remember how much I loved the 60’s Lincolns.
oh wow!! TY for the support and commenting. That sounds like an amazing color combo of a '64. You are welcome.
Be sure to watch the Jay Leno's Garage on these Lincoln convertibles. It has a guy do a technical tutorial on the convertible top system. He makes a living traveling and fixing them.
Thanks. Yes, that is John Cashman. I know him well. I recently had dinner with him. He had retired and he announced he was back. I helped on a video that is about to come out soon from Kelly at Lincoln Mercury Old Parts Store. Thanks for looking out!
Another good turnkey cruiser. Nice way to get into the scene!
You nailed it!

What's up ODB? Good video I love the 63 but I love my 61 as well
Thanks Robert. No doubt, '61 rocks!!! TY for the continued support.
We bought the pump jo ebay, our car is without the pump deflector and hoses, does the pump for the 1963 have to have a return? The one that came from the USA came with two doors?
THe 3 port has the return built in.. the 2 port has a tee in it for the return. You really want the heat shield. If you need one let me know and I'll get you in contact with Tony Bolin.
