I'm wanting to do a stroker 2.9 turbo on my E28. forged internals, etc; any tips?

I’m a bit late but in the future i wanna swap mij 316i for either a m50 or a m52. Its my daily tho. I also don’t know how far i wanna go power wise. I would say not much more compared to stock. For now lets say i don’t wanna turbo it but do like other mods to gain some hp like intake and exhaust manifolds, exhaust stuff like that. What do you think?

A motor only has one system, like an electric motor, starter etc.. An engine has a multiple systems to run. Your working on an engine so call it an engine. Just sayin..

BMW rear ends are garbage no matter if it’s a M car or not. Trash. I’m learning that the hard way. Coming from Ls turbo s Chassis those diff hold tons. I had to try a bmw 330ci and well let’s just say my turbo ls will be blowing any bmw diff to bits. The bmw cars are cool but I should have bought a 370z. I well I like my 330ci so Ford 8.8 fab work and 2 grand for overpriced axles from SLG here we come.

Hey guys I'm in a pickle here. I'm doing this job on my 2009 535 manual. everything says i should need lock plate pn 23211490120 but i went to install it and that pn is way smaller than what's installed in my car. my input flange nut is also 32mm instead of 30. what pn lock plate do i need???

Damn, you absolutely HAVE to adjust the valves to max clearance and you have to ROTATE THE CAMSHAFT as you remove the rocker shafts, sliding the rockers out of the way and moving one position at a time. Never force the shafts out under pressure or you risk damaging the head. Something everyone misses is the fact that you CAN INSTALL THE ROCKER SHAFTS INCORRECTLY. The large holes face downward, and the small holes face inward.

You didn't mention anything about the dimple on the stator and dimple on the rotor which is attached ot the shaft. Which way does the dimple on the stator face and which why does the dimple on thr rotor face? Also the alignment between the two? My pump only had on dimple of the shaft which pointed to the inside of the pump and the stators dimple was also pointing to the inside of the pump.

apppreciated the video. I sourced the lock plate as well BMW part # 23-21-1-490-120 and replaced that new. The part number for the seal is made by Corteco Part # 82033796. For those with F15, I was able to complete the job without having to remove the exhaust, which saved a bunch of time. You can jack up the engine at the distal medial corner of the oil pan with a rubber pad or wood will work about 1 inch and there will be enough clearance to move the front drive shaft yoke out of the way. Removal of the seal quite straight forward, long flat head screwdriver and pry using the outer housing as your fulcrum, popped right out one smooth motion. I'd source a set of bearing press collars from one of the many stores that rent them, master kit may have the correct size. I did not have a spare piece of exhaust as shown in the video.
