    How do you put surgical gloves over the surgical gown cuffs

    • @barbarahamiltonmd5892
      @barbarahamiltonmd5892 Před rokem

      I find it helpful to have only your fingertips poking out of the gown as you don your gloves. That way, as the glove cuffs come up, they overlap with the gown over the wrist. This is important for sterility.

    Hi Dr. Hamilton, can you please let me know which company is making your protective wear, particularly head cap? Is there are any company you would recommend when purchasing head cap? Thank you so much!

    Hi Dr. Hamilton, I work for a medical manufacturing company of CT equipment and am creating training courses for CT Technologists. I was wondering if you have any restrictions on the use of your You Tube video and if not, may I have your permission to use it for my training purposes?

    Do you use disposable radiation protection gloves? Also does your radiation protection headcap have protection only at side or top also. thanks

    • @barbarahamiltonmd5892
      @barbarahamiltonmd5892 Před 2 lety

      I've never used radiation protective gloves although that would be a great innovation to look forward to- gloves that protect but don't increase dose if your hand gets in the field of view...I've heard current versions are cumbersome. Do you? The hat I have is side only. The top is just cloth with no protection. I think this is good since the cap already has significant weight.

      @@barbarahamiltonmd5892 thanks for taking time to clarify on head cap . There are disposable radiation protection gloves available in market selling for 20$ a piece which are much like ordinary disposable sterile gloves but cost is limiting factor especially in resource limiting set up like ours. Looking forward for future videos

    With the gloves you don't lose too much sensitivity during surgery you work well?

    • @barbarahamiltonmd5892
      @barbarahamiltonmd5892 Před 3 lety

      If you have nice snug gloves then there is no wrinkling. As far as having gloves you'll get used to it as there is no choice! You must protect yourself and your patient! Gloves should be snug but not tight enough to make fingers numb

      @@fioredigirasole9075 Wonderful! Yes, you'll get used to working with gloves, and even using tiny wires and fine movements you can feel and maneuver well with a well-fitted glove! It's a common mistake to use baggy gloves. I'm a medium sized woman and I use a 6.5 glove so they are snug. The guys I work with use 7 or 7.5 so you can try a couple options as you decide what works best for you.
