Picking up from where we left off in the previous upload. This time we test the sounds on more aggressive pulls in lower gears and with windows down!

The exhaust setup remains the same with the exception of the downpipe, which has been upgraded to a 3inch catless unit. The result? REDICULOUS amounts of turbo whistle. Enjoy! It's been long overdue that I post a theatrical re-introduction of my 2003 New Beetle GLS 1.8T that I owned three years ago back when I was in college. After hearing about its almost certain junkyard death recently, I was given an opportunity to help restore it back to its former glory. 2003 New Beetle 1.8t with a 2.25 aluminized muffler delete pipe (both mid resonator and suitcase mufflers) from the cat-back. Sounds throaty and has nice turbo whistle. Quite a bit of drone compared to stock though. Mods: DIY Short Ram Intake, Angency Racing Power Diverter Valve, and Muffler Delete Pipe. Horsepower: 152 (Butt Dyno)

It’s a suitcase and resonator delete from the catalyst back with a cherry bomb muffler added at the end.

nice clean beetle. I have an 05 same color. Its all stage 2 with supporting mods. deleted and tune by o6a technik. its a riot to drive and surprises so many people when they ride in it.
Yeah once I tuned it after going catless it woke the car up! Properly quick for a daily.

These beetles were produced from 98-05, then 06-10 for the similar “face lifted” version, this is a 98-05 beetle and is either a color concept beetle or he put the seats from a color concept car in here, I believe the color concept was only available in the first gen new beetle (98-05) but not 100% on that

Did you find where your rattle was coming from? I have the same rattle and have no idea where it’s coming from
if you only have the rattle when off throttle / not boosting it could be your turbo waste gate. Got this problem on my A4 B5 1.8t. You could probably fix it by taking off the turbo and tightening up the actuator arm. I was gonna fix it that way but i'm gonna get a bigger turbo anyway so it doesn't bother me that much.

I think the stock pipe is 2.25inch diameter. You could still run this muffler, just might need an adapter. Any idea where to look for a high Flow Catless downpipe for my 2010 2.5L “non turbo” beetle. Everything I see so far is for turbos
New Ground hmm I’m not sure about header mods for the 2.5 inline 5. All I know is that motor sounds great with an exhaust. Reminiscent of a Viper engine, just one bank of cylinders.

Do it! It’s cheap to fabricate and makes just enough sound to satisfy. Plus these mufflers are super cheap.
So I just installed a 3inch catless downpipe today. Man the sound is absolutely incredible. I’ll update y’all with a proper video shortly.... stay tuned!
