Great video except you need to use change the oil pan.

I've had that same problem with that style of oil catch pan, its because the catch area isn't deep enough, or slightly angled at the drain area.

This looks like the life! I’ve got a 21’ SR5 XP and I would love to throw a softopper on for camping like this.

If you could keep the fluid spilling over the ground that would be a great video. Also once hearing a click you should stop turning the torque wrench.

It would be difficult to stealth camp with that set up

I am not ready to build my own cot yet and have a super short truck bed - I’ve been going insane trying to find a cot that is short enough or can be adjusted to be short enough to sleep with the tailgate up (I’m female and plan to a lot of stealth camping.) ordering this cot and giving it a go!

I've got a 2017 4x4 taco,never knew about this til I was looking around. How often do I need to replace this fluid? Im at 101K miles already. Is this why my taco feels like it stalls?

Looks like the railings need push out toward the outer edge of truck bed. My install points (the pin it slides in) is flush to the inside bed rail - referring to the issue at 5:35.

I have that same exact oil pan. It's a crap design. It's too shallow and oil always splatters out of it. Obviously ZERO testing went into the design of it.

Very nice and informative. Can you elaborate on how many different types of washers you used? I am a bit confused on what washer goes where. It's my understanding that there are metal crush washers, aluminum washers and a copper washer for the differentials and transfer case.

Do yourself and the environment favor and throw away that pos drain pan.

I change my diff fluid too. It's pretty easy really, not any harder than an oil change. Can't figure out why shops charge so much to change it. Mine wanted $140 per diff hahaha! Why? It's 10 minutes of work.

this bothers me more than anything else.. As a former Air Force military maintenance man I continually see a major error in almost all these videos, no matter Who makes them. YOU SHOULD NEVER double click a torque wrench. That was forced into our heads and was alway a warning in the Technical orders. If you double click a torque wrench you are actualy over torquing. This won't change anyones habits, but I'm sure there are many vets out there and present military maintenance men that will agree, and cringe when the see it happen.

Don’t forget to check the axle vent cap. It’s left of the differential on top.

I would have let all that residual fluid drain out, given all the work and prep, what's another 5 minutes?

Do what I did...cut the top of that oil drain pan right out with a jig saw,they are too shallow..
