I’ve been doing this hunt for almost a week now and thought it was probably just skill issue and feel SO validated by this

I failed my first full odds shiny in area zero. It was a green zwelious I kid you not I looked at it closely and my brain just wasn’t functioning because I told myself “it must be a regional variant” the other day I was thinking about it and searched up its shiny and sure enough the shiny is green so yeah my first full odds shiny failed

Bro I came back to scarlet to just go to Alfornada and then I bumped into a tarountula THAT WAS SHINY and catches it this all happened on accident

I remember in kitikami I was running around in a cave (the name of the cave had chill in it but I forgot the rest) and I was hugging the wall of the cave and turning so I couldn’t see what was in front of me, and I just ran into a random shiny tynamo

When i was trying to fill in my dex i saw a deluridon. I didn't have one so i went to catch it and it was a shiny. I was NOT paying attention until i saw the sparkles and sat there for like a full minute in awe

Not Scarlet/Violet, but one of my first Pokemon I caught when I played Pokemon Shield was a shiny Yamper. Completely by accident. I didn’t realize it was a shiny until MANY days later (note that Gen 8 was my reintroduction to Pokemon, my last game before was the original Gold from the early 2000s).

The first Shiny I accidentally encountered in the Indigo Disk DLC was a Minior. I kid you not, while I was trying to acquire as many BBQ Points as possible, one of the missions was to sneak up at a wild Pokemon before battling. So I spotted a Minior, threw a PokeBall while its back was turned, and lo and behold, the Minior I hit was a Shiny.

My was seel in that arena and i was confused why it (now dewgong) was yellowish

When u got the minior shiny I thought it was a ditto

On this hunt right now, spent like 2 hrs looking for all colours and still missing Blue. Now shiny hunting on my first sandwich in Chargestone cave, wish me luck!
