#100 Ultimate DIY Compost Bins Pt 1
zhlédnutí 458Před 4 lety
This will be a Multi-Part video series on building the Ultimate DIY Compost Bins. They are a simple and inexpensive Compost Bin to build. I will also be building a sieve in order to sieve out any larger uncomposted pieces or unwanted trash out of the compost. Sieving is also a great way to make potting soil mix, which I will talk about in the latter videos.

I had to replace all the screws on my last Honda motorcycle with Allen screws back in the late 60s. Nobody realised that the original screws were JIS and Phillips screwdrivers just chewed all the screw heads. Recently I bought a set of JIS screwdrivers. Amazing difference.
Good video, but terrible music …
Thank you! prefer the rubber electrical tape.
I replaced a 1 inch cold water line going from the well casing to house. When I tighted the PVC threaded male fitting to the metal female well casing I didnt tighten quite enough. After hand tightening I wrench tightened 1 and 1/4 turns. When I turned water on there is a tiny air leak with a tiny drop of water. I cant tighten any more because of the glued fittings, What can I do ?
24:30 Someone likes/liked to play Pharaoh :)
How much layer should I apply?
10 to 20 wraps
i got the same set. i filed em quite a bit and sanded the crap out of them, they ended up quite thin
Do you need to get a square & hex crimper or can you use just a hex? Are there terminals/connectors where a hex would not do & you have to use a square or the other way around?
either will do
I’m
I got sn 01bm to crimp jst connectors. It took me more than 30 tries to get one semj perfect. I just bought an engineer 09.Hopefully it doesn't give me a headache
I find Phillips and Posidrive to work fine most of the time on each other's screws. Both have trouble with J.I.S. screws. However, my J.I.S. Screwdriver seems to handle posidrive and Philips crews with rare problems.
Covert instruments 😉 LPL has great lock picking supplies.
CLUMSY FOOL,,,,,, APPLY TAPE N THE ""DIRECTION OF THE THREADS "",,,GET IT ???????
Where does Philips #1 , 2 & 3 screws used & how to select Correct Screwdrivers for them? Can I use the Philips #1 Screwdriver for all philips screws?
What would you recommend me for crimping the JST battery connector and Dupont connector? Engineer PA-21 or PA-09?
I never thought of thay. All joints are important.
I don’t C(actually did C, this video), how it bonds to its self with no s2pid-S glue, strange, doesn’t really make any sense does it✋🤔.
for screw terminals use ring or U crimps.
$11.98 at Home Depot now, inflation is outrageous
You didn't say anything about selecting the correct type of teflon tape, or how many wraps with different thickness of tapes of how to clean the threads of the pipe before making the joint.
Problem: 20 competing cruciform screw and driver systems. Solution: Create a new universal standard cruciform screw and driver system. Result: 21 competing cruciform screw and driver systems.
Quite informative and well explained. Keep up the good work.
For me the difference between the Engineer and the ratcheting crimpers is basically that every single crimp done with the Engineers is perfect, first time. Ratcheting takes more goes and there's a lot of profanity. Price of the Engineers is worth it for the lower blood pressure.

Those Iwiss ones are sold under many differnet brands. The one thing to be carefull with is that there is a right and wrong way to crimp. The dies are different side to side. One side does the crimp and the other does the insulation/strain relief.
One very important point you failed to make: do not wrap the tape over the end of the pipe - or too close to the end such as you did - there is no need to wrap the tape that close to the end of the pipe - leave one thread bare - you do not want any fragments of that tape entering into the pipe itself - potentially causing a blockage downstream.
No arbor lock built In party foul
Quick easy diy how to.Great thanks !
Nice tip
I purchased a set of these EBL batteries about a year ago. All 4 batteries are now trashed, swollen because they discharge themselves and fail if you leave them sit in a device for too long. I used mine in a couple digital multimeters and an IR thermometer, devises that tend to sit for a while between uses. So when I go to use the thermometer or multimeter, the battery is dead or nearly dead. No problem, right? I will just swap it for another battery that is fully charged. But when I pull the dead battery out of the device, the battery is swollen and won't come out easily. So the battery has failed, and I could have purchased a set of 16 alkaline batteries for the same price and would still have some fresh batteries ready to go. I think each of the lithium 9V batteries got maybe 3 or 4 cycles before they failed. I just took one of the failed lithium batteries apart and measured the individual cell voltage at 0.0V completely dead cell, even though there is a cell protection circuit. As an Electrical Engineer who worked for a battery manufacturer for almost 10 years, this should not happen. Their cell protection circuit discharges the cells completely over time, and this damages the cell, causing it to generate hydrogen gas, causing the cell to puff up and become a possible fire hazard.
thx for the analysis... a real eye-opener
Can you send me the scheme please?
i recently stripped jis screw with ph2.
I just checked, page no longer available.
either you need to check your focus or I need better glasses
E for effort (but wwwwaaaaayyyy slow).
if you smell gas RUN ;D
Thanks ...& good close up.
WHITE TEFLON TAPE NO ''FOR GAS''
True, Yellow is for gas
You didn't tell us the most important thing... how many turns? how much is too much? how much is too little? nobody seems to know.
10 to 20 depending on application
Thank you for teaching us amateurs, love CZcams.
Our " High End" Bosch Washing machine is leaking like a sieve at the bottom near the drain plug, a very honest tech said, try some Teflon to seal the plug before you pay me to look at sensors and leak alarm codes, now I know how many wraps to do as well thanks to Randy Scott
FYI: It’s pronounced J.I.S. (Jay-eye-es), it’s not pronounced “Jizz”
Thank you this was very helpful
How do we download the application?
Pozidriv screws look completely different from Phillips/JIS, they have the little fins in between the main arms of the cross. You can get away with using a Phillips driver in a Pozi screw, but not the other way round. Pozi screws are still the most common in the UK for woodwork and general construction purposes, though less so on machinery.
whats the music 2:30 ? :D / like / sub
Thank you ! This is stuff my dad should of taught me but thank god for CZcams University
Excellent video, very helpful. Was having trouble with a leaky kitchen sink mixer - the steel cup for the aerator/filter was simply not a exact fit for the spout of the sink mixer. Followed your video and applied teflon tape to the thread of the spout and then installed/tightened the steel cup, and it worked like a charm. Thanks.
Good repair job, but the replacement transformer costs about the same as the power supply did new.
What's the name of the first music track?!?
