sorry for the late reply, we are not full time youtubers, we just post our work so it might help others who are starting out :) and no EIS is not an option for us because it doesn't work in RAW mode (only 8-bit mov) and that's the ONLY reason we got this camera! if you want EIS, better option is to securely attach a gopro or even a modern smartphone to the camera (in-plane with the Fp sensor and its cam side facing the same direction) and using the gyro data from them to stabilize in post using free desktop app called Gyroflow. The only issue? additional processing time and only really useful for focal lengths <=50mm (full frame equivalent). longer lenses just can't be stabilized well because the gyro sampling rate of these devices were meant for wide focal lengths. the tighter the FOV, the higher the sampling rate needs to be. That's why sony's built-in gyro stab (catalyst) can stabilize even an 85mm footage with ease.

since it is not oversampling in full frame mode, moire issues are there esp in 1080p. in crop mode, it is recording 4k from a 1:1 size of the sensor and is cleaner BUT it's still no match for other brands doing oversampling. 1080p is also much worse in crop mode. one benefit of crop mode though is reduced rolling shutter, around 11ms vs 22ms in full frame. so using warp stabilization/resolve stabilization works better if your footage has less jello.

We got it for 99k from Amazon which is a great price and cheaper than other countries/FF brands. The fixed screen, lack of autofocus and poor native lens availability is compensated with the flexibility of pure RAW, EF lens adapter and cheap SSD recording media. Be careful while exposing (it can go upto +2 overexposure and -3 under) and grade in Resolve with "highlight recovery" option for best results. Don't bother with the mp4 recording as it is not good but you can use the HDR video option (only 1080p25) if you want to use the built-in colour modes and don't want to grade in post. In full frame mode the camera is line skipping 6K to get 4K and that can give you moire issues on certain patterns and cropping is not advisable but 4K aps-c is clean. 1080p has lots of moire in both the modes and is quite soft. But again the 12-bit colors saves it! (BTW Sony a7c/a7iii has the sharpest/cleanest 4K and Fuji/Panasonic GH have the sharpest 1080p.) Lastly, try to shoot between ISO 100-800 in normal light and ISO 3200-6400 in low light as other ISO values are quite noisy (base ISO is 100 and 3200). Let us know if you have other questions!

@@idealistjack Thank yo so much for this information it was very helpful, i am a full time video editor in the advertising industry have worked with almost all camera files ranging from arri ,Venice , Blackmagic and many more. the reason i am looking for a camera is for travel documentary purpose, as i am also a mountaineer and go out on Filming expeditions for about 15 to 20 days far from civilization in Himalayas and western Ghats. the cameras in my mind are Blackmagic 6k pro , Panasonic s1h and sigma fp with lot of ssd and 1 ninja or Blackmagic video assist. it would be a great help on your perspective and choice. last but not leat how is the dynamic range of this camera compared to others.

@@titikshafilms3697 We initially wanted the BMPCC 4K but wasn't available on Amazon and third party sellers were charging a lot more (also no traveling international friends due to COVID). If you can afford the 6K Pro then I'd say it is a much better choice overall than the Fp. Tiltable, 1500nits screen and BRAW are the standouts for me. In prosumer mirrorless segment, I'd consider the EOS R5. With internal RAW recording, great autofocus and cheap lens options, it's for me a better option than A7S III or the S1H. You can tell I'm a bit RAW biased! The ProresRAW option on Sony and Pana requires external recorder and more importantly, it's not compatible with DaVinci Resolve - a major deal breaker for me. So for your shooting requirements, I'd say the R5 will be a better buy/rent as you have the best of both worlds: high quality RAW for image quality and "creature comforts" of autofocus and IBIS. The overheating is easily bypassed with the battery door + date reset hack and it is not a concern unless you plan to shoot long 10+mins continuous takes. In regards to Fp's dynamic range: it's tricky business determining DR. The popular tests online by CineD and Gerald Undone do not account for internal noise reduction which on Sony you simply can't turn off and on S1H there's still some NR after you turn it down to -1. That gives them 12+ stops of DR whereas the Fp dumps the entire sensor data without any NR so gets a lower 11 stops reading. BUT denoising in post is always better for details and texture and that's why I don't bother too much with DR ratings. Still, we are planning to do a comparison between Fp, R5 and A7SIII soon! Finally, whatever you choose, try to rent first and do your own tests for your workflow 👍
