T56 The complete detailed shift lever and case re-assembly
zhlédnutí 3,5KPřed 2 lety
For the home T56 rebuilder, this video shows the procedure for setting up the shift levers and installing the main case and shift guide pins. Also forgot to add, the synchronizer sliders are in the neutral position for this assembly. I would recommend doing a practice assembly one time before you put your case sealer on!

Any idea how tight are guide pins because seem to be very tight?

Interesting. I'm about to this point and I was going over the manual and it says to make sure your in the neutral position to keep 3rd and 4th shift rail from engaging. Not sure what would happen if it does. But if you haven't had any issues then it must alright.

If you don't, you knock the 3-4 synchro into 4th and it doesn't come back out without disassembling the transmission, resetting the synchro, wiping off all that damn silicone, and repeating assembly. I've done it more times than I care to admit and it's infuriating. I'll do a dry test run, everything's good, add the silicone, and everything's not good. You also have to be careful dropping the case down at the right angle so you don't grab the shift rail too hard and knock it into 4th.

Great vid, I remember my initial panic putting my first t56 together a few months ago not knowing how the shift rails and components went back together. You can pop the front cover off after the fact once you have the guide pins and tailshaft on to put the RTV so you aren't fighting multiple things at once.

I think I'll give this a try, it would be really nice to have the silicone be the only variable.

Just coming back to say I did it this way and I think this is how I'll be doing this going forward. It reduces the silicone to a single variable (itself) and putting the front cover back on with everything else together is super easy with nothing to knock out of place.

@@Supercharged111 glad that helped! Its a lot less daunting when you know you can remove it without having to re assemble it completely

In June 1876, Serbia and the Ottoman Empire were engaged in the Serbo-Turkish War (1876-78). Russia openly supported Serbia. The Russian Musical Society commissioned an orchestral piece from Tchaikovsky for a concert in aid of the Red Cross Society, and ultimately for the benefit of wounded Serbian veterans.[1][2] Many Russians sympathized with their fellow Slavs and Orthodox Christians and sent volunteer soldiers and aid to assist Serbia.
