Big Questions: Pitchfork Fest 2015
zhlédnutí 229Před 9 lety
Now a decade old, the three-day Pitchfork Music Festival has grown each year; the 2015 line-up was one of their most expansive, with as many rap and electronic acts as their indie rock brethren. Last week, in the fest’s final hours, as day turned to night, and Jamie XX turned to Caribou turned to Todd Terje, it all definitely felt like a celebration, albeit one much cooler than my tenth birthda...
In The Can with Chastity Belt and Jawbreaker Reunion
zhlédnutí 2,7KPřed 9 lety
It begins. All summer we have been posting up in the Silent Barn backyard, piling artists into that little trailer you've maybe noticed parked back there. It's called The Canned Ham and it's actually a multi-purpose hidden space within the space, having previously served as a pop-up gallery, micro office, and mini meeting room. For these interviews, we paired up artists who we thought might hav...
The Chain Letter Interviews: Levitation Festival 2015
zhlédnutí 2,4KPřed 9 lety
Our rugged chain letter interviewee Kerri O'Malley made her way down to Austin for the annual Austin Psych Fest. Now known as Levitation fest, she caught up with Ryley Walker, the Black Angels, Tamaryn, LA Witch, Vaadat Charigim, Mystic Braves, Tele Novella, and the always entertaining, Fat White Family, and let them do the dirty work of interviewing each other. Topics include: bathroom food, t...
Pipe Check: Musicians review smoking utensils for 4/20
zhlédnutí 4,6KPřed 9 lety
Marijuana is a booming business, or as CNN puts it, a revolution. That's fine with us, we've been reporting on the weed revolution for years. With the legalization of both medical and recreational marijuana comes new streams of peripheral revenue, and one of the biggest sectors is smoking utensils and accessories. The days of rolling joints or smoking bowls are quickly becoming passé, as new te...
New York's Alright: The Last Year
zhlédnutí 4,2KPřed 9 lety
Few events in New York City can boast a legacy of fireworks, blood, and nudity at the caliber of DIY punk and hardcore fest New York's Alright. 2015 marked the third and final installment of the fest, according to organizer Adam Whites, who, along with Dan Oestreich and their friends Reed Dunlea, Marc Grillo and Mike Hillerson have brought preeminent punk and hardcore acts from all over the wor...
A White Guy and a Black Guy have a conversation

The shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri has once again ignited a racial and political firestorm in the United States. Many a think piece has been written and the social media outcries have reached a fever pitch, most of which claiming the origins of a true post-racial society must begin with open dialogue. Yet despite all of these expert opinions, we haven't seen or heard much open ...
Low Fat Getting High and Dead Stars Interview Each Other
zhlédnutí 44Před 9 lety
Sometimes we get lazy and decide to let bands interview each other. And sometimes it gets awesome(r) when random people off the street jump in and help out. That's exactly what happened at Low Fat Getting High's record release show for their self-titled LP at Cake Shop. Our fearless videographer took to the rainy streets of NYC and handed the mic off to LFGH and show-mates Dead Stars. What happ...
The Chainletter Interviews: 2014 CMJ Pt. 2

Our story of love and birthright continues to the next episode, with Heems handing off to Protomartyr, Small Wonder, the Heliotropes, and Austria's Sex Jams. Maxwell and Kate Bush make way for talk of sex and selling out in Part 2 of our 2014 CMJ Chainletter Interview.
Take a tour of Hardly Art Records
zhlédnutí 379Před 9 lety
Back in March of 2014 we wandered the halls of the Sub Pop offices in Seattle like kids in a candy store. We were treated to a history lesson of who's who in modern rock; from Nirvana to Mudhoney to Sleater Kinney to the Dwarves. Yet tucked away in a small room all to themselves is Sub Pop's formidable sister label Hardly Art, who has been steadily releasing some of our favorite records in rece...

Ever wonder what Jenn Ghetto, S, Gem Club, Malportado Kids and Heems would ask each other if given the chance? Well wonder no more! In Part 1 of our 2014 CMJ Chainletter Interview, these incredible musicians cover such hard-hitting topics as genetics, birthright, losing your virginity (a common theme), and greenroom makeout sessions.
Couch Potatoes: TacocaT watch MacGyver
zhlédnutí 227Před 9 lety
As we prepared to record another episode of "Couch Potatoes" with one of our favorite bands, the unexpected happened: the cable went on the fritz. We never really prepared for such a thing; it was always just, "there". Not too worry, TacocaT had a smart phone, the power of 4G and a portable speaker. Considering they just MacGyvered the hell out of the situation, we knew there was only one show ...
Seems inspired by Gregg turkingtons character Nicole Hamburgar
Love seeing this after I just finished Jamie’s book.
Энди Энди Эдвин Эдвин
Thanks alot for those videos. We updates Monster rally information page with all possible to find information for our fan group in Russia via VK. Thanks!

My dog tore his acl
lol
The devilish bow after the Tim Allen joke
LOL EVEYONES ALL OVER HIM IN THESES COMENTES
If you think about it the cool people trying to intimidate a new comic are the butt of the joke.
i love him so much lmao
katie home
its interesting how unfunny the crowd is
this is art
this is fucking top class. so glad they're oblivious
Helll yea
I ADORE this song. I could listen to this on repeats for HOURS.
Imagine having your son is in the audience and he thinks Tim is bombing for real.
I just thought about and I don't think it would bother too much tbh.
Nothing is funnier than the people in the audience that don't know that Tim is 'bombing' on purpose. They think that other people will join in with the heckling, but other people know what Tim is up to... so they are probably thinking " hey why aren't other people supporting my heckling? " This is comedy genius.
Worst fucking audience
I'm new to this guy.....once you've watched him......all the other stand up comedians .......he ruins them....brilliant....SH*TS AND GIGGLES FROM THE UK.
holy shit the Donald trump bit
So good
I'm a fan of his television work, but he's not capable of stand up and apparently hates most other comedians, especially those who inhabit the comedy store. So I don't think he cares tbh🤣
This is a character, he’s doing a bit
Solid Act.
I love blunts over anything.
This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen
2:24 SHRIM!!!
"Yeah Jim" - some drunk dude 400 times.
Balls of steel to get heckled the entire set and still stand up there and intentionally Bomb 👏🏻
Health insurance companies have a captive market on all of us but as soon as my dog has a torn ACL it isn't covered? That is some Bull spit.
Coming up next, a non-post-ironic Jim Breuer. Just as unfunny, zero self-knowledge.
love tim heidecker and his republican counter sam hyde but man their fans are fuckin annoying
The intro?
uuuuuuuuwwuuooooo
OKAY, TIN
There's a large contingent of turds in this audience that simply don't get it. There's nothing that can be done for these people.
what that mouth do eric
Come on y’all, you can pull off one more year, i know you want to, deep down I know you can do it, I offer my help, I have the experience, I can volunteer to help anyway I can. You just have to get framtid to play, please
How does this have less than 10 views after over half a decade? I also remember there being a longer version of this interview somewhere. Sadly it seems that a couple other monster rally interviews have disappeared from youtube as well. Weird!
Awesome to see this in front of an audience that isn't in on the joke, and that makes it so much better
What makes you think that they’re not in on it?
@@postbunniebecause they seem genuinely offended by his insults, "go back to L.A.", "shut up", etc. If they are in on the joke, they don't know what's funny about it. It's only a couple of the loudest hecklers.
Shout out Christina Applegate
no one puts shannon in the corner!!!!
I went to see xiu xiu live once and it was just Jamie alone crying and slingshotting into a gong
I've read this comment at least once a day ever since I've seen it
omg he's taking the piss out of them SO MUCH… this is the BEST audience for this of his characters
I legit searched the web for original refusing to believe Eric wrote those ...so damn catchy
so many girl comments thirsty for a guy who doesn't even know they exist
he has boy fans too you know
Yeah asshole I'm a guy and I'd bend over for this dude!!!
Prescient. Time traveler? I’ve been a big fan of Tim Belushi ever since the Blues Nrothers.
The guy yelling "shrim" is so drunk.
