Importance of Form Factor in High Performance Buildings
zhlédnutí 562Před 3 lety
The form factor of a building is a representation of how efficient its overall form is in relation to heat loss. Detached single family dwellings have the worst form factor, whereas apartments have the best. The form factor of a building has a significant influence on the levels of insulation required and therefore the overall cost of the thermal envelope. If you get the form factor right, deli...
Passive Goes Massive in Wexford!
zhlédnutí 165Před 3 lety
Construction work has just begun on one of MosArt’s flagship projects, a four-story 50,000 square foot Passive House office project in Enniscorthy, County Wexford. The offices will be located in Wexford County Council’s Technology Park in Enniscorthy, which has to be one of the most scenic locations in Ireland, providing elevated views over the Slaney Valley. In meeting the Passive House standa...
Relationship between Relative Humidity and Temperature
zhlédnutí 26KPřed 3 lety
If you over-ventilate a building in winter, you can end up with uncomfortably low indoor relative humidity. If you have cold surfaces in your home or holes in your vapour control layer, you can end up with mould and condensation. This video explains how these phenomena occur providing a basic introduction to the key principles of psychrometrics or the relationship between relative humidity and ...
Window Shading
zhlédnutí 344Před 3 lety
When designing a building to optimise free solar gains in the heating season, don’t forget to think about protection from overheating in summer. In this video, MosArt illustrates the use of roof overhangs and projections to provide solar control in both winter and summer.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
zhlédnutí 487Před 3 lety
The United Nations has developed 17 ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ or ‘SDGs’ for short. Three of these SDGs relate to energy efficient buildings, namely SDG 7 ‘Affordable and Clean Energy,’, SDG 11 ‘Sustainable Cities and Communities’ and SDG 13 ‘Climate Action’. In this video, Tomás dons the UN SDG pin as a symbol of MosArt’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.

03:30 It's more accurate to say local temperature and air composition fluctuations will cause an average 80% humidity volume to sporadically form liquid water droplets from condensation. Microorganisms such as mold spores require liquid water to grow.
