I'm no videographer - nor do I claim to be!!! My focus is the music I fell in love with - songs that were never remixed into an extended form but kept me enchanted and coming back to the turntable to play them again and again... some are Disco, some are Dance, some are ballads... all of which I'd have a field day with if I was ever allowed access to the master tracks!! I always prefer a remix that sounds like the original song - modern "house" and "trance" re-interpretations just drive me up the wall - I LOVE REAL MUSIC!! I want the music to send me on a journey, not some chemical made in a bathtub!! Is there any hope for me??

Growing up on a farm, only listening to radio and spending any money I had on K-tel records, I had never been exposed to Extended Versions before!!!
Needless, to say, that moment CREATED A MONSTER!!!!

Micah McLaurin - Moons (Chris' Once In A Blue Mix)
The Force is strong with this one - the spirit of '78 is alive and well - its four-on-the-floor heartbeat is thumping and calling us back to the dance. Micah is a trained pianist (who should have soloed an instrumental section here in this song, as well as written another verse and a bridge - but I digress). Dance Music hasn`t moved me like this since Pink`s double negative I`m Never Gonna Not Dance Again. Alas, a 12`` Version has yet to be created that takes this song home and turns it into the huge Disco Anthem it deserves to be (there is an extended dub version, but those tend to just annoy me...) so here is my cut and paste. This mix is disco dj-friendly and should fill the floor at midnight.

In memory of a great photographer whose work I appreciated in its day. I recently became aware that the 12" of Cherish did NOT include the vocal break from the album/single, so, to correct this egregious oversight, I thought I'd include it here (memories of On The Radio! Why they don't include all parts on an Extended Version mystifies me). Does anyone know the name of this man? Enjoy.

It's been a long time since I remixed something - let's see how long this stays up and where... I found a remix online that is a "stripped out" mix - remnants of the original vocal tracks are there; it is not a stem or original tracks remix. I ran it through the mill and came up with this!

I checked Adam out - I listened to his full playlist in the wee hours this morning while I was awake, and I'm sad to say that I find his stuff repetitive in the modern I'm-trying-to-be-profound-like-Paul-Simon-but-am really-trying-to-say-too-many-words style. And, he's trapped in the minor modes musically. While he's certainly doing well at telling his story (which rings home with me!!) I did not hear anything that was a floor-filling Disco Anthem. I do like his hats. Tell me what you like about his music.
@@Leftatalbuquerque I like his voice. The songs are filled with pop hooks that are well executed with charts and production that don’t remain in that single genre. Lyrically I don’t hear a Paul Simon parallel myself. I don’t profess to know what constitutes a dance floor anthem so there I defer to you. t I enjoyed your concise comments on Adam and appreciate the time you took to listen and respond. You’re a mensch Christopher. 🎧💯🫶

I wrote the producer and asked for the the sheet music to learn to play on the guitar. I could play it, but can't sing it worth s**t. I sound great with headphones on and nobody around. Such an awesome song.

Wow!what a powerful '80s US classic.I have an apreciation for Foreigner though here in Europe, American soft rock wasn't always played too much comparatively to other stuff.This is such a great recording and so well produced.The instrumentation is fab and the sound so rich and all details and sounds clear and audible.Btw is this mix a tiny bit sped up or is my false impression.
