hahah came here because my cat did exactly what this cat did :p I had a bit of a fight with her, thanks for showing a better way. It's soo much less stressful for the cat to give it with a syringe.

This method makes the most sense for me. My Cat is very large and one vet said to scruff my cat which isn't possible. Also I don't have an assistant to hold the carrier for me. So I was glad to see you do it alone. 👍

I'm at my wits end....I have tried everything to get her to take this pill. 3 days no problem, 4th day not having it. Watching this video stressed me out especially when you said the pill could get stuck. The pill my cat takes is very small and coated but has managed to find it and spit it out of every treat. I won't crush it because we are trying to avoid her from throwing up and getting more dehydrated. I don't know what to do......Please help me!!!

If this is the lowest stress possible I’m in dispair right now. I am alone, an assistant (or meaning: any other human besides me) means serious high anxiety for my cat. What is a stress free method of giving a cat (which can’t be hold without it causing her lots of anxiety) medication? She will only eat dry kibble, refuses wet cat food, (cat) milk, (cat) pudding, liquid snacks, doesn’t want fresh-, raw- or prepared meat or fish, no cheese or whatever. Still hoping she will love the churu, didn’t know that exists so looked it up but I don’t have it yet so don’t know whether that will work or not (she has to want to eat it herself, can’t feed it into her mouth on my own and having an assistant will stress her out too much

Churro treat trick worked. But not by pushing it into his mouth. But he licked it right off my finger after licking most of the churro 😂

His name is Tator 🙂🙏 folks at Sonic used to buy him a hamber , they kept him alive his whole life he is a spoiled elderly semiferral , but he got his name tator from the people at sonic . He has some fleas but when i try to wipe him down to clean them off he gets upset. Have used topicals but they dont seem to work sometimes. His bedding gets washed about twice a month and he doesnt have teeth anymore so he has to have canned cat food. Hoping that capstar will work. Thank you.

wish i could find a video that’s with a scared cat. I have one that’s stuck going number 2 and running everywhere. I just got him from a shelter a month ago and we are trying to take him to the vet. It’s been over an hour of watching these types videos and trying but being covered in crap. They need to show cats who run away and protect their neck from being picked up / know these tricks.

Tried this once than 2nd time started fighting us more. Didnt even want peanut butter anymore.

My cat is now doing daily Benadryl pills (1/2 12.5mg) and it's a rodeo. He's a super mellow fellow so he always forgives but sometimes I feel bad for him. I will try your method of crushing it and administer with water. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the tutorial! My friend and I used this to catch an injured+sick stray cat, though we unfortunately didn't have the spray. Thankfully, she was a cat that trusted humans, and we put a can of wet food in the carrier with her, and I saw her eating from it a few times while the car wasn't moving (I found that she seemed less scared when she could see outside the carrier, but we still blocked her view of any dog we saw while carrying her, since we could tell she was scared of dogs). We also later had a nurse remove the food (she would likely need surgery that night, and we had to wait for the shelter/vets to pick her up), wipe up the spilled meat juice, and put a towel/blanket in under her, and it seemed to instantly make her feel more comfortable.

I think the main point is "always have 1/2 more pills than prescribed", as half of them will get unusable, when cat spit them out. It's hot summer here also, so when I cut a pill in half, one half morning, one half for dinner, the second half transforms into dust during the hot day. I tried put it in the freezer, still got destroyed when I took it out, guess some pills aren't made to last once you cut them. So, always have half more than you need.

Our vet has me give 300mg plus 2 100mg of Trazidone for a vet visit for my 80plus lb pitti. Shes the kind that needs sedation for nail trims.

I warm the bag of fluids by letting it sit in a warm water bath for about 10 minutes before administering. Keep the tube junction out of the warming bath to avoid any leakage. A glass lasagna pan works nicely. Alternatively, you can run the line, just the line between the bag and the cat, thru a bowl of warm water. As the fluid passes down from the bag in the line it will be warmed. Test it first by squirting a bit on your wrist….but carefully avoiding the needle, obviously. I found that the room temperature water often made the cats feel like they had to run away because they felt something cold was on their backs. Warming the water made it so they barely felt it going in.

I just adopted a couple of sweeties who aren’t used to a lot of up close and personal handling. Thank you so much for demonstrating how to control the cat with techniques that cause the least stress. With my son’s help I think we can get their claws trimmed and not expose our vet to a shredding machine on our first visit.😊

I tried to do the syringe method and my cat choked. Like she did the “I’m going to vomit” retching expression and then crawled off like she’d been injured. I gave her a treat to see if she was able to swallow, and she did eat it (after a little) but now I’m worried it went down the wrong pipe. I put it in sideways, my sibling was holding her still and keeping her head up, but things still went wrong.

Reading these comments (except the first two) is putting me in a deep depression. I have no hope for the world left after reading them. Y’all so stupid that I’m surprised you don’t forget to breathe.

The cat in this video is so calm. My can only smells medication, he doesn't let me even come close. How to apply a medication to a cat that is stressfull about it, always moves and tries to escape? I tried to associate it with food, with a game, with treats, nothing helps. Will be helpful for any advice or a link to a video with a "harder patient" 🙂

This is SOOO ridiculous, I live alone and if I wasn't aggressive using a piller, he'd never get ANY PILLS! I have to SIT on my cat and FORCE his mouth open! Absurd!

I have to give me senior cat pills twice a day. She is very resistant to taking them and, even when I follow with water, occasionally (somehow) pukes them out. Tried the ear version, but it's not helping as much. I will try crushing, but any other suggestions? Your cat was a toy compared to mine. She will rip you to shreds if you aren't careful, even with two of us. Can't afford the surgery...

2 days ago our cat (2.5 years old) had a blood drawn from jugular vein. Since the day, she is not able to walk. Her right hind leg has become numb. Is this normal? Will it heal itself? Please help with your inputs anyone, as we are terribly sad seeing her suffer.
