Access karting is built on an ethos of making the entry into karting more viable for people to start their journey into motorsport. For too long, karting has been viewed as exclusive or unnecessarily expensive to compete. We have created classes and regulations, with minimising costs and equalising performance at their core. This is to enable the first steps into karting to be more about the enjoyment and less about a challenge of logistics and finance.

What are your recommendations for finding a suitable axel with inboard holes for the sprocket mounting?

Adam another way, not necessarily better is to knock the axle thru from the engine side after loosening the grub screws and then fit the sprocket loose and line it up with the engine and clutch so you can then mark where the keyway needs to be with a sharpie. Then slide the sprocket carrier along and you can drill the keyway holes in situ. Be mindful of swarf although any in the axle will work its way out with use anyway. Re the chains, rather than slog round with spare chains attached picking up dirt use a chain splitter and add or remove sections as necessary depending on gearing. You can also fit new chains this way without having to remove the axle. Final thing, split sprockets with a cut thru one side is a far easier means of changing them as per the chain splitter process above, just needs deft wrist action. Good video though and very simple for beginners to follow.
