I think the Claymore is better if you want to modify it. It's also cheaper, but harder to find. Both of them aren't really that good, tho ..money better spent on something else 😁👍

@@OTWRC this thing is a lot of fun. I just had an accident with mine and destroyed the drive strut in the rear. Not sure if you know of where to get one or if somebody you know has a boat that they want to sell I would really love to get another one back on the water. I can probably fix the boat but if I can buy a whole boat with the strut I’d rather do that.

​@@Mindcoach1on1 I think these boats are hard to come by these days. You used to be able to get spare metal drive / strut from a Chinese boat site called Monkey Hobby. I'm not sure if they still sell them or have them in stock, but it's worth a look.

@@OTWRC thanks for responding. Yes they have been discontinued and you cannot find them anywhere. I have searched high and low and they are not anywhere. Hobby went out of business as monkey Hobby used to sell that outdrive system but it’s no longer available.

I used the motor out of a Pro Boat Valvryn. I can't remember exact specs, but it should be listed in video description of other videos I have of this boat 👍👍👍

The rigger is a TFL Arrow and there’s a link for that one in video description, you can also get it from OSE. I’m not even sure if the MTC Jaguar is still made. MTC still makes boats, but they are based out of Vietnam and very hard to get here in the US. I got this one last year from OSE when they were cleaning out their basement ..got lucky. The owner of MTC can be hot and cold from what I understand and my experience trying to order boats from him was not good and a complete waste of time - he basically talked to me up until I placed an order, then he totally disappeared, but I could still see that he was reading my follow up messages 🤷‍♂️

Yes and no lol - if you can do all the modifications correctly so they work properly, it’s not too bad because you’ll only be in for about $300 total and I’m not sure you can find another boat as good for that price, BUT at the end of the day, it’s still a plastic boat, ya know? Your next best/cheapest option would be a TFL Rocket which Banggood usually sells for the cheapest price (they seem to be out of stock at the moment), but you’d still prob end up upgrading the motor and esc to make it faster at some point, or you just go with a TFL Pursuit which is a classic tried and true boat that can run the larger 36 and 40mm motors, you can run larger batteries in them and really make them fast, they’re also reliable and easy to sell if you ever loose interest, it’s just a great all around boat, but like anything, you start moving up in quality/performance and so does the price tag. I enjoy working on boats and tearing things apart, but if I just wanted a ready to run boat that was reliable and went fast with no work and would last me along time with endless upgrade possibilities, I’d prob get a RTR Pursuit from offshore electrics ..but we’re talking $5-600. Just depends what you want. The new Pro Boat Black Jack 24” catamaran looks fun and is RTR for $299 I believe ..hard question to answer! Hope that helps a little 😀👍👍👍

@@OTWRC thanks you did answer it. I have been working with RC crawlers for almost 10 years always building my own from scratch and making lots of mods. Just recently started with boats so I’m new at this so wasn’t sure if it was worth doing it but definitely I’m up to the challenge.

I would think so as long as a battery that size will fit inside. You can always stop the boat after a minute or two and check to see if electronics are too hot and keep running if not, ya know? Good luck!
