Do this and you can adjust height without bending anything out. I agree using the pry bar will work but is not permanent. This worked for me and can't work its way back in. Washers are no good. Need a fixed "spacer" instead. czcams.com/video/RVK_po7BRZsu/video.html

It's for the folks that don't take their finger off the prime bulb when they're priming. It's a messed up engineering idea. It reduces the priming bulb's efficiency by about 70 %. Priming bulbs worked just fine without the hole in the middle but God knows, we can't leave well enough alone. Engineers have to account for their paychecks somehow.

The biggest problem with mowers is that the decks rust out. What you need to do is clean the grass off the underside and then spray a complete coat of COSMOLINE spray on it and let it dry before next use. They will never rust. Even spray the underneath where the tires mount, and all near the grass chute and steel baffles.

Honestly, my solution for what to do with old gas in a lawnmower is to just dump it in my old ford, go to the gas station and top off, and call it a day. That little bit of water or ethanol in a gallon of fuel isn't going to really do much more damage to your vehicle than buying normal pump fuel will. Especially if you live in an area that gets a lot of rain because those fuel stations will get tankers of new fuel rain or shine. I've watched those guys filling the underground tanks in a deluge and the driver is standing under the overhang to stay dry while it pumps.

Do you know the exact position where this shaft notch must be located in pair with flywheel magnet, please? The problem might be not in flywheel`s key! It can be inside of the engine, in plastic camshaft and/or a decompression mech on it. The symptoms are very similar. The most useful technique would be to compare the ideal alignment of the notch and magnets with current what you have. But how to find this ideal one?

Oil gets dirty, especially detergent oil. I change my Honda mower's oil twice a year. Overkill? No, 13 oz of oil twice a year is a bargain compared to having to buy a new mower.

Hey Al...Got a great tip...Use a silk sheet as a filter for funnel gas...Old boater trick...This is how "Mr. Funnel" started out..Gas flows through..Water does not..Different microns...Use Ethanol Shield for Fuel Stabilization/Regular treatments for all your vehicles Gas or Diesel....

We have a 12 year old Toro with an OHV Kohler engine. It does not have a drain plug. I just put it on its side and run oil out of the filler hole every year when I sharpen the blade. It still runs perfectly and quietly. 3/4 a quart of oil a year is cheap insurance. Even if it makes no difference, it cannot hurt.

Change after 30 mins, then once a year or two.

So you save $2 to run old gas through a small engine. I’d rather run fresh fuel through my engines for piece of mind. Just burn the old gas.
