  • @wilwheeler3754
    @wilwheeler3754 Před 5 lety

    foil has turned in a joke and looks so dum. They need to call attacks into preparation. If you are coming forward and your weapon is not threading the target, but up in the air or somewhere else that is preparation. The fact that they even you the world intent to explain a fencing action makes no sense. Some ref told me, " It is all about intent to attack". Just think about it. one person attacks and hit first, and the other person intends to his and hit second.

    • @ziadkhayat7299
      @ziadkhayat7299 Před 4 lety

      Counterpoint, one person tries to hit with an inadequate attempt to stop themselves from getting hit in return. If you don't like right-of-way, watch epee. Something I would highly recommend anyway.

    • @juangirard5039
      @juangirard5039 Před 4 lety

      U know absolutely nothing about foil, it was obviously a mistimed attack in prep so it was viewed as a counter attack

    16:41 Lei isn't do a parry. Ota not attacking yet, it's a beat of blade. If beat of blade : nobody attacked, nobody have priority... Then first attack come from FotL If parry (a parry with the arm extend and almost the point in line on the 1/3 stong of the opponent blade...*coughing*) : the FotR don't ripost immidatly : lost is right of ripost... Then first attack come from FotL => But as we've seen Ota take is as if it was a parry (by do a retreat), that can disrupt, but whatever, we are referee, we don't care about what fencers believe in and just try apply FIE rules. No use to talk about disengage of pulls his arm back... No use to talk about beat of blade or parry... In fact, only take the last 2 fencing time, what do you see ? Only preparations, then the attack from left. Good refereeing despite this call
