Thanks for your informative video 😊 I've been in the hobby for a year now and have the 600 and do use it out of the box. I've been out on a club dig today in Surrey for six hours and in general I dig everything but all I've got is crud so I've started ignoring what I consider to be rubbishy signals. On recent digs in both Kent and Shropshire I've dug everything and also ended up with crud. I'm starting to think that detecting is a good walk spoilt. Best wishes to you 😊
It's not for everyone. Like fishing is long periods of boredom broken up by small rare moments of excitement. 😆
You're brave eating the nettle seeds, I'd end up getting stung!
Fear mongering, So many folks have been using tires for years and years, rubber does not rot out, or leach Into the ground. Now the pressure treated lumber, or telephone poles, that's a different story.
People smoked for years, so smoking is healthy? Tires do leach it's a scientific fact. This is why, in many countries, tyres are considered hazardous waste.
@@GrowYourOwnLife be careful what scientists you listen too, every one has an agenda.
Good to see blueberry starting to produce.
Its going to the new plot I think. Have it's own special place. 👍
I own an alotment too and i am very happy to have it. It s my own little Spot of nature, 600qm with flowers, fruit trees and vegetables. We habe a Hut and sheds and beds. We even sleep on the alotment like weekend holidays❤️
@@pragerrattler220780 sounds really cool. 👍
Hey new to your channel we have just took over an allotment over 3 weeks ago it was a blank canvas apart from the jungle of weeds but were making good progress looking forward to learn some tips :) we have also started vlogging it on our channel so we can look back next year to see how far we have come
Awesome. Hope you enjoy it. Keep me posted. I'll sub. 👍
@@GrowYourOwnLife thank you so far so good all the family is getting involved and the kids are learning things from the other plot holders 😊
lol you say ashes I think oooo potash
The main culprit mould is aspergillis, the condition from inhalation called aspergillosis. Basically severe asmatic symptoms can occur. Like most moulds it has peaks at certain times a year. My dad was hospitalised once after shovelling multiple bags of chips on our allotment. Got told by a neighbouring plot holder it was no problem. He was a doctor. The next time he was wearing a mask. Also had to discourage young kids from playing on a pile Only to be told off by the ill informed parents Great to get a reminder
@@0KiteEatingTree0 great info cheers.
@@GrowYourOwnLife NP.. I did somewhere have a longish blog post on it that I wrote some time ago, which I was going to link, but like many things. Its disappeared into the digital ether :) NHS website has its own warnings/risk mentions etc.
Great Health and Safety tip , Thank You for sharing. Frequently theres dust and spores in our allotment woodchip pile and I never thought of the dangers . Will be careful after watching your post 👍🏻😀
You're welcome.
Oh, man! Thanks for letting us know, though.
No problem.

@@violationz4842 cheers, appreciate it.
I have just signed for a plot, very small only 62.5Sqm, but it is just fluffy grass. No weeds but not sure how to get rid of the grass cover.
Cardboard and no dig. If it was me. 👍

How odd , it looks smart to me , lovely plot with a nice variety growing , might try the intercropping on my plot , thank you posting
You're very welcome. It's been an issue on this site for years I fear it's now more personal than principaled, but I attended several meetings at the local council & it appears to be improving now. Fingers crossed.
I've got an English Heritage pass as well!
It's good value. Quite a few very interesting places
Cannot in good conscience vote for Sunak or Starmer.
Well you'll get one of then. 👍
@@GrowYourOwnLife Sad but true.
@Theslavedrivers as I said, there's more cance of change with Starmer as the majority of Lab members want PR. Then we can push him for change. but I understand you got to vote how you feel
@@GrowYourOwnLife If PR is introduced for the General Election after this one, then I'll dance naked, on camera, at a place of your choosing.
Hi Ross! So happy to see your videos. It has been a year since I last saw any you tube videos. Glad to have a computer again. Happy family having g a bang up fun time. Are you still flying?.
Hey, good to hear from you. Hope all is well. Not flying, sadly far to expensive. Although I did do a 100mph zip line recently & that was amazing.
MASON IS VICTORIOUS
Make your vote, but tell your Labour MP that you leant your vote to them and that you want PR. PR makes voting positively for something a genuine choice, rather than having to vote against the party you dislike, and enough pressure can get it in the next Labour manifesto. Plus PR will end the threat of a unified Tory government.
How many feets will find the mechine
I don't understand. Sorry. If you mean how deep will it detect, then it depends on many factors. Size abd conductivity of object and make up of soil. It will find a horse shore 2 feet down it probably wouldn't find a coin 2 feet down.
I just got a Garrett Ace 300 but what makes the I different?
I stand for international. (European) I presume you're in USA if its the 300. 👍 Apparently, it's slightly different set up to do with soil. So I was told... not sure how true that is?
Yes I am in the USA. Ty
@laurieallentaylor7562 Happy hunting. May all your beeps be good ones. 👍
Could you please mention where you went as l would like to go there and how much it cost. Thankyou.
Cool, isn't it. I've got another video to make on this. it's near Tenby in Wales. I genuinely can't remember the name, but I'm sure Google will help. 👍
Hi , as there is no power then how do l keep electrical items charged? Also any essentials that must be taken for hobbit house? Probably a silly question does it have a sink and any issues with mobile connections like 4g. Thankyou.
There's a locker away from the house with a plug for small items, but the point is to disconnect so there isn't much signal, just a weak radio signal etc. Put the phone away my friend. 👍😁
A sad indictment of our neo-liberal society, instead of uniting together, the powers that be have convinced jo public that people with disabilities are their enemy, and people with so called hidden disabilities, who are equally in need of disabled parking, are looked down upon as the worst of us 🤬 we've got 100's of years being pushed out to the extremes of society to fight back against, but united, we can move mountains! 🤗
Why do you not show what it was?
I will. In my vlog. 👍
Just getting my first M.D, Looking for your kind of review to help with the decision. Thanks for being so informative and for "keeping it simple". I will get a 600 I believe, it seems the right tool for my needs. I'm living smack in the middle of an early settlement gone the way of histories chaos so I'm hopeful of some good interesting finds. Thank you.
Happy hunting. Sounds like a cool spot. Very jealous 👍
Bought 2 of these lasted about a month, the spring are to weak.
I was about to plant flowers in them however I’m now worried I’ll poison the bees and butterflies. If it contaminates the flowers and they collect the pollen surely the pollen will be poisoned?
New fear unlocked
Defo! I'll never pick up a bag of compost the same ever agsin
I'd love to know why these people think people on pip think we live a lavish life, I've gone from a £1600 a month job to just over £400 , it just about covers food for a month.
Research and you will note that toxins and such will not make it to the fruits. The black you see is the nitrogen, phosphorus and such as these are attracted to carbon (what tires are made of) rust of which phosphorus is attracted.
I’ve found Trust pilot can be quite a good way to get noticed. If the product is dangerous it should be recalled.

@@GrowYourOwnLife paroled or escapee?
I would NOT grade this as either ok or anything above an F-. They've rushed the product to market in order to meet government guidelines on the phasing out of peat in compost mixes. What it really needs is regular turning every other day, covering up in-between turns to keep out excess water, for about another 6-8 weeks. Only then, would it qualify as compost and not the mulch it actually is. How they can get away with calling it 'All Purpose' is beyond me.
Aldi supermarket didn't have their peat free compost in yet as it was too early in the year so I ordered Miracle Gro Peat Free compost instead. I was shocked to find that upon opening the bags, it was only truly fit for mulch as it hadn't been composted for long enough, was very coarse and claggy to boot. Still, as it was early January 2024, I thought to brave it anyway and potted on 3 very nice young shrubs I bought via mail order. 6 months on and after following every cultivation instruction the growers recommended, all three shrubs had failed to thrive. Upon upending them out of the pots I discovered that there'd been no new root development at all & they'd all died. Similarly, after sowing delphinium, rudbeckia, sweet peas, Echinacea & lupin seeds on 29/02/24 in propagators in the greenhouse and wondering why there'd been little to no germination whatsoever, after 6wks I resowed. 1/06/24 I finally decided it was time to pot on the resulting seedlings despite poor growth. I was shocked to discover that there was a 99•5% failure of development beyond that of initial germination. I've used peat free compost for around thirty years as I find it much better than peat based ones as it's slower to dry out & easier to re-wet as well as being more environmentally friendly. I'm one of those sickening people who can tackle the nearly dead stuff in the reduced section or womble the fly tipped stuff people have thrown out & is also nearly dead, bring it home and reinvigorate them back to magnificence, something that makes my mum dead jealous as she only has to look in a plant's direction for it to turn it's metaphorical toes up & die! I'm so well known for this at my local B&Q that before the garden centre staff even say hello, they tell me the status of what is or isn't in the reduced section the moment they see me walk in the door. A mate described me to someone yesterday as being someone who brings home weeds & transforms them back to health. In other words, I'm a very good amateur triffidologist. I have NEVER had such terrible results with commercial peat free compost, or any compost for that matter, as I've had with this stuff and would NEVER EVER buy it again. In desperation I've bought some Aldi peat free compost, mixed it & perlite, vermiculite, fish, blood & bone with the Miracle Gro stuff & painstakingly potted on my seedlings to see if this makes any difference; fingers crossed it will.
All my raised beds are made of tires. I'm stopping and changing them now. You saved my life. Thankyou!
Best decision you'll make my friend. 👍
@@GrowYourOwnLife 🙏
All these compost companies are finding it harder to sorce materials for the compost now they can't use peat. Noticed the deterioration in these products as soon as all this peat free malarkey started
is the rooster caused you problem i.e., his noise.? Thank you in advance
Great advice!
Thank you 😊
I can’t get on with this peat free compost. It dries out so quickly. Sometimes having to water pots twice a day as the ‘compost’ does not retain the water and runs straight out the bottom. Even putting a saucer underneath the pot does nothing as the compost does not soak it up where peat compost would. How this is more environmentally friendly to use peat free compost, I do not know as I am having to use more water. Water, which is a scarce commodity.
I'm all for the peatfree movement but I must agree with you, currently it's not working. Sadly.
Protesting and boycotting these companies works so come on people! I didn't like the guy at first but the man is right 100%
Nice!
Beauty isn't it. 👍

Hi Thank you for your miracle Gro review. I used to like it and had great results with it, from seed sowing to filling baskets and tubs. However over the past 2 to 3 years I have found the quality has dropped, but the price hasn't! I bought 2 bags last week and found it worse than ever. full of glass, hard plastic, polythene, stones and large bits of wood. I really expect better from Miracle gro. I have used up my homemade compost which I have to say was really good. It's amazing what you can produce from kitchen and garden waste. Happy gardening.
