There is a mark of commemoration for all physicists who made even a small contribution. For example, Cycles/sec is named 'Hertz' after Heinrich Hertz. Poynting just expressed an opinion and there is a 'Poynting Vector'. There is 'Cartesian coordinate' named after DesCartes, although he did not design the coordinate system. But there is no mark of commemoration for Bose. I attribute this to Euro-centricism of the world scientific community.
