Welcome to the world of Gothic Horror, Film Noir etc.
I worked for the BBC Film Studios in Ealing, Lime Grove and Television Centre through 1969 and the 1970s, 'the good old days' - power cuts/blackouts, candles, three day week for some and of course Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Some uploads are my original creations, some are Public Domain Movies - the 'ΣΒΤ' brand mark in the top left corner means I have done work on a public domain print by editing or adding the soundtrack, or editing the visuals; these are shared for the purposes of critical comment, discussion and education. A murder during a film shoot sparks the search for a killer! Mr.drew( David manners) who works in the studio and is a mystery writer, ✍️ plays detective and finds out how the crime was committed and the suspect may be ones of the executives who manage the studio! Bela lo Lugosi is not the villain in this movie but he can give an unpleasant manner until the end of the flick!
I've watched this one multiple times - it's a good one! Thanks
Absolutely brilliant. The story was so realistic and likely. B+W movies definitely have more reality about them.
I was born in 48 but don't remember ever seeing this one. Thanks for a fun film.
Entertaining and a great bit of fun, makes me look a right twit as I did not work it out myself, still being like Alister Sim well that's not too bad!
And the rich get richer.
Bernard Lee!
Just watching a scene where the men are smoking Pipes, the first thing that occurred to me was how unpleasant it would be to be around them, how much they would stink, do you think that is what they were going for when they made the movie??🤣🤣
MUY BUENA PELICULA!!!EXCELENTE!!!UNA DE LAS MEJORES DE DRACULA!!FELICITACIONES!!!FANS ARGENTINA.2024!
Unmöglicher Film. Lächerlich und abstoßend. Die alten Socken meines Großvater sind bedeutend aufregender. Schande über die Menschheit. 1951 möge ruhen in peace.
Can you imagine being invited to a party like that where all the guests are looking forward to interesting conversation rather than getting drunk and taking drugs.... no, neither can I
so many chances to get away...oh well.

Trivia @ 26:04 is a pinball machine. The First Pinball Machines It wasn’t until the 1930s that the first modern-looking, coin-operated pinball machine was invented. It was created by the company Automatic Industries, which named it a “whiffle board.” Next up was a game called “Ballyhoo,” invented in the 1930s by Raymond Maloney. Later, he established the Bally Manufacturing Company of Chicago, IL. Other games invented this time include “Bingo” by Bingo Novelty Company and “Baffle Ball” by D. Gottlieb & Co. All of these games were made with wooden legs and tables, starkly contrasting the pinball machines of today, which are made of chrome and steel. Despite all these inventions in the early 1930s, none of them were called pinball! It wasn’t until 1936 that the term “pinball” was coined.
This was harsh. Whoever, I did firmly believe I was in that penthouse 23 stories above Manhattan. I think the Hays Act may’ve been a good thing.
What people who haven’t read the original Christie Ten Little Indians is that in her book THEY ALL DIE, THE GIRL IS THE SOLE SURVIVOR AND SHE DOES HANG HERSELF. MUCH abetted ending than the silly romantic stuff shown in every film / remake since.
Exactly😊
🌹 Thank You , sallis65 🌹
Thanks for showing. Good pic.
😂 I'm always a bit of a wreck when animals are near danger - even in old movies. That's a pretty cute rat terrier. 🩵🐶🐾 Rest in peace, little pup.
Enjoy the movies of old where there existed a ‘code of ethical movie content’. Today there’s no boundaries which has led to minimizing morals and accountability in society.
Great film. I wonder if it really was true. Would like to. know about the real life case.
This is another of great movies.
I've seen it before and enjoyed it just as much this time. I think it's a good one.
Me2🤣🤣🤣
A mystery to the end. I love them that way. What would I do without my 40s, 50s, 60s, British B&W movies. Thank so much for posting.
Hate it when no info about the movie is offered by the poster. (synopsis) Quite thoughtless.
In opening scenes watch Dead Cop's car switch from a 5 Window to a 3 Window Coupe !
Thanks!! Very enjoyable movie no matter how many times I've watched it.
Can't understand why they needed taillights on that craft.
The Sheriff of Nottingham from the Robin Hood TV series playing the detective
The judge stated BEFORE the trial that Trump was guilty and that he would go to prison. Looking forward to the appeal. In the meantime, Cohen who is guilty of theft walks free. Why do WE bother to obey laws. IF Trump should become ineligible to be on the ballot, I suggest that people vote for RFK Jr, even though he sides with Israel.
It's not really a c😅medy ! But a very good old time murder mystery 😊
The soundtrack buzz is terrible.
It is such a great and fun movie. Cannot help but laugh out loud! Feels so good!
No petrol, can empty, middle of nowhere what a bellend
Rival newspaper reporters pat Morgan ( ginger rogers) and Ted Rand ( Lyle talbot) find themselves unraveling the mystery behind the mysterious death of the millionaire philanthropist who fell from his penthouse balcony! Ginger rogers and Lyle talbot appeared in the thirteenth guest in 1932-that was the second comedy-mystery film they were together in! That flick was good to watch! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
You can't beat Hammer Horror.
Got here from the Rocky horror picture show

Met the distributor Mr. Lippert (king of the quickies) years ago in SF.He financed Roger Corman's "Monster from the Ocean Floor".
These used to be on tv after midnight! Miss them lots. Sitcom junk stinks.
Peter Lorre always stands out in any movie its always a character where Lorre is always Lorre but damn he has a presence that hits perfect in any movie
This is terrific! Seeing Huntz Hall on screen always makes me smile. And Bela Lugosi, too? I love it.
A dark night in wartime with several blackouts-it is just a night for murder! Susan cooper ( Glenda Farrell) a fast -talking girl reporter doubles as amateur sleuth solving yet another mystery among Hollywood’s famous-she gives a lot of one-liners in this flick-Lyle tablot plays her publicity agent boyfriend caught in the middle and the cop harassing suspect is clueless throughout the movie and the mystery is solved at the end of the film! 🎥 😊😊😊😊😊😊
As a kid I thought all Transylvanian peasants had Cockney accents.
Dame Mae Fishman is in this one!
I have watched every movie Bela Lugosi has been in. Watch 👀 in my Jock-Strap 🍆💦 in Pennsylvania USA 🇺🇸. My cheeks are hairy ❤
Does the name Hernandez mean anything to you? I would like to get a connection made in the DA's office. Any imperfections would have to be made perfect. Two and two do not equal 4. Never confess ever.
This woud be an interesting observation if anyone knew what you were talking about.
