A regularly scheduled weekly siren test for central Oklahoma. This Whelen WPS-2910 is located at Reaves Park on OU’s campus. After the rest of Norman’s sirens shut down, you can faintly hear one of Goldsby’s Thunderbolts from 3 miles away.

EAS tones ay? That's what I love about the Federal Signal FCH. It can decode EAS, and other data methods, and you can customize it to decode for anything you want!

Such a cool thunderbolt, a friend of mine from high school moved to Marlette about a year ago, tells me how much he hears it. He doesn't think much of it but thinks it's cool.

If they went with a refurbished unit they would of saved some money a refurbished Thunderbolt 1000T would of been great here
The township had plenty of money to spend and felt more comfortable getting something brand new rather than refurbished.

Cant these sirens be remade? There is a way
Not on a commercial scale, no. Would also be ill advised as to the level of power they draw, battery backup wouldn’t power these. And that’s important during a public emergency. The blower systems are also prone to failure as well. All in all, good for its time but collectors pieces nowadays.
